Nagasarete Airantou – 02

Suzu is telling Ikuto a the story that she heard from Grandma about how all of the men on the island were wiped out during a fishing tournament. That is why there are no men on the island. It will be a very long time before they can ever be saved, so it’s better not to think about it. Suzu suggests that they should get some sleep, and Ikuto is very surprised when he sees that there are two futons set up right next to each other. Suzu says she is going to take a bath, so he should go ahead.

As Ikuto gets ready to sleep, Ayane comes to try and capture him. He cries out and Suzu comes in to fight with Ayane. Suzu takes the giant eggplant that Ayane had placed in Ikuto’s place, and throws it at her. Ayane attempts to dodge it in a very cool way, but fails miserably and gets thrown into the sea. Suzu senses someone else in the ceiling and throws a pillow, revealing Chikage. All of the girls from the island come into the house all zombie like. Grandma comes in explaining that their instincts that have been repressed for ten years have awakened. She then suggests a contest for Ikuto’s marriage.

In the morning, Ikuto is very hesitant about the contest, but finally agrees to Grandma’s words. He gets a head start and think that he can’t possible be caught by girls, but when he looks behind he finds that they are extremely fast. Suzu throws Tonkatsu at the mob, knocking them down, and Tonkatsu ends up with Ikuto.

Meanwhile, some girls find Ayane having fun with herself and the giant eggplant. Rin is keeping up with Ikuto on the top of trees. She is imagining marriage in her head. When she swings down to capture Ikuto, Suzu swings in her direction and knocks her down. Ikuto thinks that he heard something behind him, but sees nothing when he looks.

Ikuto runs into Chikage along a path and panics, but Chikage says that she isn’t interested in the marriage. Ikuto is relieved, but Chikage thinks to herself that, in exchange, he will be her test subject. Suzu sees a trap along the road, and moves the mushroom out of it, deactivating it. When Ikuto and Chikage get there, Chikage ends up trapping herself.

Girls pop out from behind Ikuto and he starts to run again. Without his knowledge, Suzu is getting rid of them. Ikuto runs off the edge of a cliff but saves himself by grabbing on to the opposite edge. However, Maki introduces herself and offers her hand to him. Knowing that this would make her win, Ikuto drops into the river anyways. However, at the end of the river is a giant waterfall that he ends up falling off of. Suzu jumps down to save him, but Ikuto is captured by Yukinari’s bird. When Ikuto comes to, he panics when he sees how high up he is. Because of his struggling, he gets dropped.

Tonkatsu saves Ikuto by inflating himself, but Ikuto finds himself surrounded by poisonous plants. He runs from them, but is surprised when they back off in fear. Looking behind him to see why, he sees a big panda. He is relieved because it is so cute, but this angers it and it swipes at Ikuto. However, Suzu counters the panda and throws it. She offers to help Ikuto up and he almost accepts, but then he remembers that they are still part of the contest. The panda comes back from behind, and Ikuto quickly pushes Suzu out of the way before it can hit her. However, Ikuto gets sent flying instead.

All of the girls see him flying, and corner him around the tree he has landed in. Ikuto panics because the sun hasn’t gone down yet, but at that moment all of the girls fall to sleep from some kind of gas. Ikuto wonders what happened, and is surprised when he sees Ayane come out from behind him. Suzu arrives at the scene, but is immobilized by Ayane’s dart. Ayane assures her that she hasn’t touched Ikuto yet, because she wanted to see Suzu’s disappointment first. Ikuto wonders why she is always fighting with Suzu, and Ayane explains that it is because Suzu is always number one. She is even more annoyed with Suzu’s big boobs. Ikuto starts to crawl away because the immobilization effect has started to wear off. Ayane chases him, but ends up falling off the cliff because Ikuto threw the big eggplant, replacing him.

As the sunset goes down, Ikuto is ready to declare his victory, but Grandma tells him that he has lost. Back at the village, she explains that she was watching the whole event. She points out that Ikuto had made contact with Suzu when he pushed her out of harm’s way. She said that anyone that ‘touched’ him would win, not anyone that ‘captured’ him. Ikuto gets ready to hear Suzu’s feelings, but she surprises everyone by saying that she doesn’t want to. Grandma had told her that people should love each other before getting married, and it should be up to Ikuto to decide who he wants to marry. Everyone agrees, and Ikuto thanks her. However, all of the villagers are fighting over who’s house Ikuto should go to for dinner afterwards.

Impression:

The animation was as good as ever this week. This episode followed its manga counterpart pretty closely, changing minor things. Once again, I had a pretty good laugh out of this show. The girls’ attraction to Ikuto is so over the top. They just take the harem element to the extreme in this series. Suzu, Ayane, and Maki were really cute in this episode. I love Tonkatsu as the type of mascot character as well. There are a lot more funny episodes to come so I’m definitely looking forward to it!
