Princess Resurrection – 01
OP: “BLOOD QUEEN” by Aki Misato – The OP is pretty standard, showing the characters from the series in various situations. The song itself is pretty catchy.
After the OP rolls, we see a boy looking up at an abandoned mansion. He received a letter from his sister asking for him to meet her, but he wonders if he has the right place. He decides to go into town and ask for directions, but the only reply he receives is an angry bark from a dog. He turns around to see a very evil looking wolf glaring at him. Unknowingly, he passes by his sister who is enjoying herself in a shop.
We see a young girl dragging an extremely large amount of luggage behind her. On the top of the luggage is a chair, with a princess on top of it. One of the wheels breaks, and as the two stand to observe it, the boy walks up and observes the princess. At that moment, a beam from above the princess falls. The boy pushes her out of the way, but ends up buried himself. The princess mentions how foolish he is, but he is just glad that she is safe.
In the hospital, the boy’s life ends. In the shop, his sister realizes that she was suppose to meet him today. The scene shifts to her pulling boards off of the abandoned mansion. She gives a hand to the young girl that arrives with the luggage, addressing her as Fran-chan.
The princess is at the hospital standing over the boys lifeless body, performing some type of magic. When the princess returns to the mansion, the boy’s sister introduces herself as Hiyorimi Sawawa. The princess mentions that the mansion is small, despite Sawawa’s belief that it is very large. Sawawa is impressed when she sees that the princess can understand what Francesca is saying. The princess asks her to get dinner prepared.
Back at the hospital, two people are inspecting the halls. The man mentions that he heard something moving, but the girl tells him to stop saying such creepy things. In the dark room, the boy wakes up. Noticing the dead body he was laying next to, he lets out a scream. In another room, the employees are telling a man that they saw a corpse moving. The boy tries to recall what happened up to the point where he saved the princess. Upon remembering her words, he looks upon the mansion.
At the mansion the princess is having dinner. Sawawa bids her and Fancesca a good night. The princess says to Francesca that it will be soon, upon hearing a wolf’s cry. After wondering about the contract, she tells her not to compare her to a vampire. She mentions the price the boy had to pay, and that it was unlikely that he would make it. Francesca then asks her why she did it, the princess replies that it is because she is merciful. She mentions that the moon is full in this world too.
The wolves arrive at her house and they rush out to face them. A werewolf that was sent by her brother leads them, who she refers to as Wildman. Francesca defends her, and the princess says that their defense is flawless. He orders his wolves to ignore Fran and only attack the princess. The princess has acquired a few wounds later when the boy arrives. Upon seeing a werewolf and a girl holding a sword, he tries to understand the situation. The Wildman declares that he would show her how cold is heart is as he charges in to attack her. He pushes Francesca out of the way, but the boy takes the blow for the princess. With this, the princess gets the chance to finish the wolf off.
Afterwards, she explains that her family is after her. Upon asking the boy how his wounds are, already dying twice in one day, he says he isn’t sure. When he came to he felt as if he wasn’t himself but he was just glad that the princess was all right. She says he has a good destiny, and that she brought him back to life. She inserts more of the energy from before into him, and introduces herself as Hime. She tells the boy that he needs this energy to survive, and that he would have to serve her from now on.
The next day, the boy is working on the mansion. His sister, Sawawa refers to him as Hiro. He is having trouble with the work and both Sawawa and Hime are already giving him trouble.
ED: “Hizamazuite Ashi o Oname (跪いて足をお嘗め)” by Ali Project – omg Ali Project….well the ED is kind of interesting, putting the characters in odd situations.

Impression
I sampled this manga, and decided to check this show out. Well, after watching it I have mixed feelings about it, more negative. To be honest, the animation did not impress me compared to the others this season. I do like the premises of the story in general (I’m a sucker for the master/servant stories) and I like Hime as a character, but it seems that they add a lot of shounen aspects to it…the type that I dislike…a lot. I was a bit interested in this show, but I think it could have been a lot better. I probably can’t see myself blogging this show, or even continuing to watch it. At least I managed to blog this episode, unlike Murder Princess, which I couldn’t even bare to watch more than once.
