Sola – 03
Matsuri notices that Yorito is going to school today. He tells her that he can’t pretend to be sick forever. Matsuri mentions that he didn’t need to be that careful of her, but Yorito replies that he wanted to. Matsuri wonders if he has fallen in love with her, but Yorito denies the possibility. She tells him that she will make food for him when he gets back, as he heads off. However, when he opens the front door, Mana is waiting for him. He tries to block her view of the inside of the house, but Matsuri has already gone upstairs. Mana thinks Yorito is acting strange, but she tells him to hurry to school.
Later, Yorito and Mana pay a visit to Aona at the hospital. He gives her another doll, but she discards it again, telling Yorito that he doesn’t have any taste. Yorito tells her that he will be back, and Aona lays down after hearing that he is leaving so soon. Mana leaves with Yorito because she has work, mentioning that Yorito has been acting very strange lately. He tries to deny the fact, and leaves. Mana thinks it is very suspicious.
The doll, Mayuko, and the man are eating at the restaurant. She asks him if he has thought about what to do now. Mana arrives with coffee, and asks if the man is Mayuko’s father. He is startled at this comment, but Mayuko says that is how it is, mentioning that he always goes home late because of work. After this, Mana tells her friend at work that she is done for the day because she has something to take care of. As Mana leaves, her friend suspects that it is a boy.
At his house, Yorito finds that all Matsuri has prepared is a lot of cup ramen. Matsuri claims that she is good at buying things, and that she was at the supermarket because Yorito was so late. Yorito mentions that he was worried about her, but Matsuri is busy eating the ramen which turns out to be really bad. The doorbell rings and Matsuri suggests that she can handle it, but Yorito tells her that he will do it.
When Yorito answers the door, he finds Mana holding some cooking ingredients. She wonders why he locked the door, when he usually doesn’t. He tries to make excuses to keep her from entering, but she easily sees that he is lying as she invites herself in. When Mana expresses her shock in the kitchen Yorito is worried she found Matsuri, but she is only surprised with all of the cup ramen. Yorito looks around wondering where Matsuri went, as Mana starts to prepare food. She suggests that Yorito is acting strange again, and tells him that eating cup ramen all the time would be bad for him. Matsuri is hiding upstairs, wondering if Mana is Yorito’s girlfriend.
Yorito is imagining what everyone would think of him if they found out about Matsuri. Mana wonders what he is panicking about when she notices that he is all out of condiments. It turns out that Matsuri had used them all earlier. Mana tells Yorito to go buy some more, and hurries him out of the house. After he leaves, Mana decides to search his house because she is sure he is hiding something from her. She doesn’t find anything upstairs, but when she returns to the kitchen she is surprised to find Matsuri eating at the table.
They introduce themselves and Mana finds out that Matsuri has been living with Yorito for a week. They discuss how it is living with Yorito, as he returns. Yorito finds himself in a very awkward position as they all eat. Mana wonders why he was hiding Matsuri from her, so they try to come up with answers. Mana wonders what Matsuri really is to Yorito, and Matsuri replies that she hadn’t thought about that.
They continue to have small chat as they finish eating, and Mana decides that Matsuri isn’t a bad person. After Mana asks Yorito again why he was hiding Matsuri from her, he finally says that he didn’t want his sister to worry. This is the first time Matsuri had heard about Yorito’s sister so he tells her about Aona’s situation. Mana gets up and says that she won’t tell anyone about Matsuri. Matsuri then decides to leave the house, because she doesn’t want to interrupt the two.
Yorito and Mana talk about how Matsuri is an interesting person, and Mana wants to talk to her more. She goes outside, but returns because she can’t find her. Mana is worried and tells Yorito to look for her, but when they get to the door, Matsuri is standing there holding a lot of stuff behind her. It turns out that she just went to get her belongings. Matsuri wonders why they were about to leave, asking if it is a date. She thought they were boyfriend and girlfriend, but they firmly decline.
The next day at school, everything is back to normal between Mana and Yorito, and Mana’s friend wonders what happened.
Impression:
Can you say loss in production quality? Maybe it was just my raw… Either way I was kinda disappointed at this episode. It was really on the boring side in my opinion. We meet Mana’s friend in this episode and she has a really weird voice. It’s not a moe quiet girl voice…it’s more like a ‘I have a speaking problem’ voice. Maybe I just wasn’t in a Sola watching mood today? I just think this episode was a total let down compared to the first two episodes. I mean it just gave me the impression of a cheap love comedy that wasn’t funny. Let’s hope the next few episodes aren’t so disappointing.
