Lucky Star – 01

OP: “Motteke! Sailor Fuku (もってけ!セーラーふく)” by Aya Hirano, Emiri Katou, Kaori Fukuhara & Aya Endo – The OP is very entertaining, mirroring the Suzumiya Haruhi ED with lots of dancing.

The scene opens up with a girl named Tsukasa asking her friend Konata why she doesn’t join the track team when she runs so fast. Read more

Darker than Black – 01

OP: “HOWLING” by abingdon boys school – decent JRock song from abingdon boys school. It’s pretty catchy, but I still can’t get over T.M. Revolution trying to put off a rock image. lolz~

The show opens up with a young girl standing in a shallow pond, looking at the stars. Read more

Nagasarete Airantou – 01

OP: “Days” by Yui Horie – A very popish song, as expected from Yui Horie. The animation is pretty standard, showing Ikuto and Suzu living together, and the trouble Ikuto gets in with the other girls.

The scene opens with a boy struggling in the middle of the sea. Read more

OP: “Yume Oboro” by Eri Kitamura with Mariya Ise & Saori Hayami – The OP has something of a fantasy like feel to it, and is done very well by three of the main seiyu. The actual animation is quite good as well, displaying the various characters of the series. Read more

Seto no Hanayome – 01

OP: “Romantic summer” by SUN&LUNAR – The OP is interesting, with he two protagonists playing in a band among other things. The song itself is kind of a pop rock song.

The scene opens up with a boy drowning in the sea. He calls for help, but no one can hear his cries. As he starts to lose strength, a mermaid comes out to save him.

Hayate no Gotoku – 01

OP: “Hayate no Gotoku! (ハヤテのごとく!)” by KOTOKO – Anything KOTOKO instant win for me. The song itself is fast paced, and I love it. The actual animation shows things that happen before Hayate and Nagi meet, and characters from throughout the entire series.

After the OP rolls, we see a young Hayate asking why Santa doesn’t give him any gifts. Read more

Hajimemaste.

I thought I’d introduce myself as a first post. I’m known mainly as Totali in various online communities, although I’m usually known as a lurker. (You’ll find me as #1 on AB IRC’s top Idle list.) I plan on blogging mainly the current season shows, but I will also occasionally blog on Jmusic, manga, and older shows. I’m a sucker for love comedies and dramas so I’ll mainly be blogging those types of shows. I do know enough Japanese to understand most of the shows I watch without subs, but I am nowhere close to being fluent. (I’m still learning!) So I’m still undecided on whether most of my blogs will be based on raws or subs. Anyways with the set up complete, I will be uploading my first set of animeblogs right away!
