Hayate no Gotoku – 06

Nagi greets Isumi as she walks into the mansion. Isumi tells them that Hayate helped her get there, but he would die soon if they don’t hurry. Nagi and Maria start to panic, thinking that he has gotten into trouble. Isumi quietly adds that it would be from a cold, but no one hears her.

Hayate is under a bridge, wondering what he should do about the destroyed cashmere coat. The loansharks from before show up, but they don’t mean any harm to him because they won’t bother anyone who has actually payed. Suddenly, Isumi’s guards show up, suspecting Hayate even more now because of who he is with. The loansharks suddenly bring Hayate into their side, and Hayate is forced to fight despite his attempt to run away from the misunderstanding.

Back at the mansion, Nagi is hurrying to help Hayate. Isumi tells them that it was her fault that the cashmere coat was ruined, but he still wanted to take responsibility. The doorbell rings, with Hayate standing outside the door. Nagi prepares to open it, but first remembers to ask Isumi if he said anything about her. Isumi tells her that he said something like little, selfish, and violent. A shocked Nagi opens the door to see Hayate, but quickly shuts it afterwards. Isumi then adds that he also said kind and cute. Maria thinks that she should have said things like that faster.

Klause takes Hayate’s temperature while he is laying in bed. There is no doubt that he has a cold. Maria wonders if that is a certain someone who locked him outside is at fault, while everyone stares at Nagi. Isumi brings in a milkshake for Hayate, and he finds that it is very good. Isumi tells him that it is natural because she is a girl. A very guilty and jealous Nagi notices that Hayate hasn’t eaten anything, so she suggests that she will make something for him. Everyone panics and tries to avoid Nagi whenever she mentions that she is going to cook something, including Sakuya who flees from the kitchen.

Outside his room, Isumi mentions to Maria that she expected nothing less from Nagi for picking such a kind butler. Inside, Hayate thinks that the food that Nagi made actually smells good. However, after he puts it in his mouth he realizes how wrong he is. However, after Nagi asks him how it is, he tells an obvious lie that it is very good. In the kitchen, Maria notices that Nagi accidentally put washing fluid in the food, while Tama is passed out on the ground.

Hayate finishes all of the meal, so Nagi excitedly runs off to clean up the dish. Maria walks in and tells Hayate that he shouldn’t push himself so hard or he would really die. Nagi walks by the room outside and overhears them, as Maria tells him that she put detergent in the meal. Hayate tells Maria that he was very happy to be nursed by Nagi while he was sick. Maria asks him if his mother would nurse him when he was sick, but Hayate tells her that his mother was the type who would ignore him and run off to the casino. Maria wonders how Hayate can tell a story like that with a laugh, as she bids him good night. After Maria leaves, Nagi sneaks in to thank Hayate. She prepares to give a sleeping Hayate a kiss, but he opens his eyes, telling Nagi that he can’t sleep if her face is so close to his. Of course, Nagi beats him up afterwards form embarrassment.

The next day, Hayate is back to normal. He walks out of his room to see a maid that he has never seen before. She greets him and fixes his collar, but as she starts to walk off she trips over her own clothes. Hayate goes to Maria, asking who it was. After hearing the description of her, Maria assures Hayate that it isn’t someone he needs to worry about. She also tells him that there would be a guest on the grounds, and to help him in.

Upon hearing about the guests that have arrived, Nagi makes a call to Klause telling him to keep the intruders out. Maria doesn’t think she needs to go that far, but Nagi doesn’t want Hayate to find out about her situation.

Outside, Hayate wonders who the guest could be, when he sees a boy sitting next to a pond. He addresses him, realizing that he is probably the guest. The boy replies to Hayate in a very rude way, and suggests that he jumps in the pond. Hayate doesn’t think he can do that, but the boy pushes him in. The maid from before shows up, addressing the boy as master Waka. He tells her that he doesn’t know anything about Hayate, but what she was really worried about was the robot that is now floating behind him.

They start to run as more robots appear to attack them. Hayate doesn’t really know what is going on, but he feels that his duty is to help the visitors reach their destination. He picks the two up, and starts traveling among the trees. Despite Hayate’s intent to protect them, neither of the two want him to touch them. While they struggle to keep him off of them, they crash land in the mansion room where Nagi and Maria are. Hayate finally asks who they are, and Maria tells him that the boy is Tachibana Wataru, Nagi’s fiance.

Preview: Wataru challenges Hayate to a duel, and the regular shenanigans occur.

Impression:

Wow, there were so many hilarious parts in this episode. Early in the episode they tried to end the show early when Nagi locked Hayate out of the mansion, and randomly showed his old friend again (who was eating ramen in the bath!). They did the “chii~~” stare when they were placing the blame for Hayate’s sickness on Nagi! Then there was the mafia members saying girly things during the cm change. I loved the random fanservice shots of Isumi sleeping xD. They also made fun of Sakuya’s minor role in the end when the narrator says “Oh yea, there was one more person..”. Saki’s clumsiness is also hilarious. She trips repeatedly and keeps looking back with an embarrassed look. They even took the jokes a step further this time, even bringing them to the preview! The random show at the end was so unexpected, and they have Hayate saying “Service, service!” at the end of the actual preview. Speaking of that, there were once again a huge amount of references to other animes in this ep, that I won’t even go over. This show just keeps getting funnier and funnier. It’s surprising how they can continue to top its previous episodes. I hope they can keep it up. The next ep looks like a bunch of random fun with everyone so I think it will be good.
