Hayate no Gotoku - 07

Hayate is surprised to hear that Wataru is Nagi’s fiance. Nagi thinks that Hayate is worried more than he actually is, so she tries to explain to him that it was prearranged beyond her choice. Hayate wonders if the marriage is ok, because the Sanzenin family would lose its name if Nagi got married. Maria tells him that he has a misunderstanding, so Hayate sees it as Wataru getting adopted into the family, and being accepted by Nagi. Wataru and Nagi get into an argument after this, throwing things all over the room, and Isumi is waken by the ruckus. Hayate is surprised to see how Wataru’s attitude changes once Isumi talks to him, and Maria mentions that it is because he likes her. After realizing that neither of them want the marriage, Hayate suggests that they have breakfast. Wataru is angered when he sees the expression Isumi has when talking to Hayate, so he challenges him to a duel.

Hayate wonders why Wataru has challenged him, and Nagi says that it is probably to show off to Isumi. Nagi warns Wataru that Hayate is quite strong, but Wataru doesn’t believe such a poor looking person could be. He is shocked when Hayate slices a rock apart next to him, but doesn’t lose his resolve because Isumi is watching. While Wataru charges toward him, Hayate thinks to himself that everything will be solved if he loses on purpose. However, before Wataru strikes him, he stops his sword with his fingers and throws it aside, because it is something dangerous. He fakes passing out, but he is surprised when this has the reverse effect of what he was expecting to happen. He tries to convince Isumi that he really lost, but when he turns around he finds that Wataru is in tears. Wataru swears that he will definitely defeat Hayate one day, before running off.

Later, Hayate is shocked to find that nobody else in the mansion has ever been on a subway train. When Hayate tries to explain to them what it is like, Nagi finds it interesting and says she would like to try it. Outside the mansion gates, Hayate explains to Maria that they will be alright, but Nagi notices that Isumi has already disappeared.

Nagi takes Hayate to places where he would least expect a subway station, but Nagi explains to him that Isumi would most likely be going in the completely wrong direction. They find themselves in an underground construction site, and Nagi grabs onto Hayate when he turns to head back. Nagi tells him not do move around so quickly, and Hayate is surprised to find that Nagi is afraid of the dark. However, he is still worried about staying there, because rats have appeared to attack them. While Hayate runs while carrying Nagi, he actually passes by Isumi. He tries to make her hurry, when the rats catch up to them. However, Isumi causes all the rats to run away in fear when she pulls a paper charm out of her sleeve.

When they return to the house without actually visiting the subway, Sakuya tries to explain to Isumi the proper way to travel on the trains. Elsewhere, Nagi gives Hayate a bag to deliver to Wataru. While Hayate travels through the city, he runs into Saki along the way. She volunteers to lead the way, but Hayate is surprised to find that she is avoiding him. Saki tries to explain to him that it is nothing personal, and that she just has a problem with being touched by men. When they reach the destination, Hayate is shocked to find that it is a video rental store.

Wataru isn’t exactly happy to see Hayate, but takes the bag which actually contains a returned video. Hayate finds that the Tachibana family has actually lost a lot of money, and the marriage arrangement was an attempt to get it back. When Wataru declares that he will acquire back the wealth without having to join the Sanzenin family, Hayate notices that he actually has a good heart. Hayate decides to become a member of the store, but finds that he already has a membership under his father’s name. He returns to the mansion with another debt, while in other places, Isumi is trying to order a train ticket with Sakuya’s obviously wrong advice.

Preview: Hayate is a trap.

Impression:

This wasn’t as roll on the floor laughing as the last few episodes, but it was still really funny. Hayate failing to fake his loss was hilarious in particular. Saki trying to avoid Hayate was pretty funny too. Isumi once again shows how bad she is with common sense by getting lost on the way to the station. I still don’t understand what the paper charm is that she pulls out of her sleeve is. She uses it more than once in the manga, but I never figured it out. I’ll probably find the explanation on some other blog, or maybe one of you could tell me here :P. The next episode looks very over the top, with Hayate cosplaying in neko mimi mode.

Yea I think you’re right about that. I thought it might be something more specific or something. Maybe I’m just dumb, or I think too much xD. Anyways, thanks for verifying that exalt. :P
