The pop idol Luna is singing in front of many cheering fans, including Nagasumi who is attending the concert. When she gets to her room, she thinks to herself that humans are easily fooled by her mermaid voice. When she gets a knock on the door, she quickly changes back to her innocent tone of voice, but gives it up when she sees that it is just her manager. While he informs Luna of her schedule, she is surprised to hear that San has moved to their area. She quickly cancels all of her appointments for the next day, remembering an event from her childhood where San beat her in a singing contest.

While Nagasumi is walking home with Saru, he surprises him by showing him a souvenir from Luna’s concert. Saru becomes very jealous, while Nagasumi gets giddy from remembering Luna. However, when Saru brings up San’s situation, Nagasumi tries to tell him that idols and reality are different. It starts to rain, so both of them quickly start to run their own ways home.

On his way back, Nagasumi sees a girl lying on the ground. When he takes a closer look, he is shocked to find that it is a mermaid. He is even more surprised to see that it is Luna. However, he doesn’t have much time to think about it, because she quickly releases a sonic wave attack on Nagasumi, and calls her gaurds to take him away. Nagasumi realizes that this is because he discovered her identity as a mermaid, when San appears under an umbrella to save him. Upon seeing her, Luna declares their undying rivalry, but San goes to hug her because she is actually very happy to see her. After Luna gets San off of her, she wonders why she never heard about San moving there. San replies that it was because a lot of things happened and she completely forgot about her.

In the Michishio house, Luna notices that Nagasumi knows everything about mermaids while he dries off her legs. She asks San what kind of relation he has with her, and she replies that they are married. Luna wonders why she doesn’t just kill him, but Nagasumi replies by telling her that he would never let her kill him, because his life belongs to San who saved his life. Luna despairs because San had always beat her in singing which was her everything, and when she finally beat San in that, Nagasumi showed up. Luna declares that she will steal Nagasumi for herself, and take away San’s happiness. However, San swears to protect Nagasumi. While they begin to argue and pull on him, Nagasumi can’t believe that Luna is acting that way. Luna then claims that she will be living in their house as the owner from now on.

The next morning, an exhausted Nagasumi wakes up thinking that what he saw was a dream. However, he panics when he finds Luna lying next to him in his futon. She teases him a bit, when San appears to stop her. Luna asks if San has ever slept with Nagasumi, and she despairs because she hasn’t. Besides that, his first kiss was taken by Masa. When San asks Nagasumi what she should do as his wife, he tries to comfort her by telling her that she doesn’t have to do anything. However, Luna breaks them up with a kick to Nagasumi’s face. Downstairs, Nagasumi’s parents are despairing over their lost home.

On the school grounds, everyone is shocked to see Luna walking to school with Nagasumi and San. After a bit of family rivalry, Gouzaburou introduces Luna to the class, and is surprised to find that she is famous. The girls in the class are amazed that Luna is a relative of San, and Saru is jealous that she is living with Nagasumi. At the end of the day, Luna says that she doesn’t know what to do after just transfering. The boys in the class pile their notes on to her desk, but when San says she forgot her notebook, they do the same for her. In Masa’s math class, San is called up to solve a problem. He asks for Luna to do the same, but she cries and says that she can’t do it. Masa wonders why she can’t solve such an easy problem, but the class retaliates by telling Masa not to treat Luna so poorly. The class divides into two sides, one siding with San, and the other with Luna. Saru tries to make Nagasumi realize what kind of situation he is in, while Mawari wonders if all the boys in the class are crazy. Elsewhere, Maki is damaged from an encounter she had with Luna, and Luna is declaring her victory over San.

Impression:

This episode was great. Luna has a personality similar to Maki’s, but it was a lot more entertaining in my opinion. Maybe I’m just getting used to it, because I haven’t been finding Maki to be as annoying as I first did either. It was so funny to watch how serious Luna was about her rivalry with San, while San just treats her like she is her best friend. Luna’s American bodyguards, Bob and Michael, as well as her manager, where pretty over the top. The war between the two factions was pretty ridiculous, and so was Saru’s transformation. Speaking of those scenes, the speed that they were talking was pretty crazy, but I picked up most of it. Maybe that’s proof that my Japanese is getting better? Perhaps this blog is actually serving its purpose ^. Anyways, I think it will be fun to see how San deals with Luna in the next episode. Now I’ve got to hurry and finish watching Tokikake (awesome movie by the way)!
