Touka Gettan - 09

Numerous girls greet Touka as he walks to the school in the morning. Makoto catches up to him and asks him if he will be attending tomorrow’s party on Christmas Eve. Touka mentions that there is no way he would, when Momoka appears behind them and makes him promise to go with her. She runs off right after, making Touka wonder what the big deal is. Makoto explains to him how special Christmas is, as Momoka starts to knit something behind a statue.

As the sun goes down, Momoka finally finishes. She imagines to herself how Touka will feel after receiving such a large scarf, then notices that it might be found if she brought it home. At the house, Yumiko is working on her story. Nene suggests that she get some rest, but Yumiko wants time to play with Touka the next day. Nene notices that it doesn’t look like it will snow, but when Yumiko starts to draw snow on her paper, snow falls to cover the entire town. The triplets excitedly fly through the town as butterflies observing the snow fall, and find Momoka’s scarf hidden behind the statue.

The next day, many of the students are amazed at the extremely large tree that has been put up by the butterfly sisters. The town is lit up, as the triplets talk about all the events that have been set up for the party. Kikyou appears behind Touka, asking if he has found a partner yet. Elsewhere, Momoka cannot find the scarf that she had hidden behind the statue. Meanwhile, one of the sisters suggests something fun to do. Using the scarf they took, they wrap Yuriko up and spin her around.

Yumiko is building a snowman, when Kiyoharu shows up to give her some clothing to protect her from the cold. Momoka searches in the cold for her lost scarf, while Touka remembers when she made him promise to go with her the previous night. As he wonders where she is, Touka notices her run into the building across from him. Inside the dining room, girls are arguing over Haruhiko as Momoka continues to search with food in her hands. Kikyou cuts a piece of cake for Makoto, but it gets eaten by Momoka as she continues to run. Makoto is disappointed that Kikyou’s cake was taken from her, but Kikyou gets close enough to kiss her and attaches a pin in her hair. Although Makoto is happy, she pulls out a stocking for Kikyou to put it in. As we watch Touka and Momoka searching various places, Makoto explains to Kikyou how Santa would grant everyone’s wishes. Finally giving up, Momoka decides to knit something else. Kikyou takes the pin and drops it into Makoto’s stocking.

As chimes go off in the town, Touka runs into Haruhiko, who asks if he is alone. Shouko shows up to complain, but a cake hits her face. She turns to see the triplets, and gives chase in her car. Yumiko has finally finished her snowman, and shows it to Nene. Upon asking about the Santa outfit she is wearing, Yumiko tells Nene that her brother had given it to her. Nene finds this strange, but praises her all the same. Shouko continues to chase the triplets inside buildings. She finally corners the sisters, but misses them as she crashes out of a window. Her car flies toward Touka, but Momoka appears to push him out of harm’s way. Momoka asks if he is ok, and Touka strokes her hair as he asks where she has been. Shouko’s car causes a fire, and the large Christmas tree collapses. The entire town receives a blackout, but when Yumiko asks Santa for light, all of it comes back.

Touka and Momoka are sitting together on a bench. Momoka apologizes to Touka, and explains to him what happened as she gives him the present. Because she didn’t have any time, Momoka could only make one small mitten. Touka laughs about this, and puts it on to find that it is still very warm. This makes Momoka very happy, so she sits closer to him. Touka apologizes to Momoka, because he doesn’t have a present for her. As she holds onto his hand, Momoka tells him that it is ok, because Santa has already given her what she wants the most. Momoka thinks that it will be nice to spend the next Christmas together, but Touka interrupts her by suggesting that they go home. Momoka asks Touka why the snow falls, and he replies by giving her a simple explanation. Momoka thinks Touka is smart, but he tells her that it is because she is too dumb. She says he is mean, as they laugh together in the falling snow.

Wow, I think I might have liked this episode even more than the last one. Touka Gettan just keeps getting better. Although it wasn’t funny like the last episode, this episode had Touka and Momoka love written all over it. Watching Momoka search for the lost scarf, and Touka searching for Momoka all day just made me feel happy inside. We saw in the beginning of the episode that Touka is actually pretty popular at the school. I’m also interested in seeing how Makoto and Kikyou became so close. Watching Shouko and the triplets’ fight was kind of funny, but it’s kind of become standard by now. By the way, who else noticed Shouko’s “Love Mako” plate in the front of her car? ^.

The biggest thing plotwise we saw in this episode was probably that Yumiko could create things from her wishes, which we saw with the snowfall and lights. At least that’s what I thought it implied. I hope it wasn’t really some cheesy Santa wish thing. I’m also wondering if the clothes Kiyoharu gave her has any real significance, as Nene seemed very concerned about it. In my opinion, the reverse chronologically of this show had a major effect on this episode when Momoka mentioned spending Christmas with Touka again. Touka pushed the question off, as if he knew they would have to disappear. I think us knowing that would happen just made that scene so much stronger. Anyways, I think the next episode will be a more serious one.
