Nagasarete Airantou – 10
Looking outside, Suzu mentions to Ikuto that it doesn’t look like it will stop raining. Ikuto says that work might be hard because of that, but Suzu informs him that everyone on the island rests at home on rainy days. Suzu is surprised when Ikuto tells her that everyone in the outside world continues to work even if it rains, but mentions that she would rather work as well. While eating breakfast, Ikuto finds that the food is a bit different today, but they still find that it is nice to enjoy a slow breakfast. Chikage looks outside, disappointed that it is raining. However, she decides to go outside, using a school swimsuit that she has.
Ikuto startles Suzu and Tonkatsu, when he lets out a scream. He tells them that he is not the type that can just sit around and do nothing. Suzu suggests things for them to do, and Ikuto finally agrees to play Shogi with her. After talking about things on the island while they play, Ikuto notices Suzu spacing out with a lonely face during one of her turns. Elsewhere, Yukinari starts a pillow fight with her animals, and Rin shows a box that she made to her fellow workers. Ikuto ends up losing, and finds out that Suzu is good at Shogi because she used to play with her mother.
Maki looks outside, expressing that she doesn’t like the rain. After mentioning to Ayane that she is hungry, Ayane gives her some dango, which she finds are really spicy. After teasing Maki a bit more, Ayane sees that she went to far, and runs out of the house. Yukinari manages to outrun her friends outside, when she notices a pretty flower. Rin observes the effects of the rain pour, when Maki and Ayane run by her. Maki finally catches Ayane, but then asks for her to help when she sees some strawberries. After pulling one out, Yukinari and Rin arrive. They wonder where Chikane is, and Kuma Kuma sees her floating down the river. After Suzu goes to make lunch, Ikuto thinks to himself that rainy days like this remind Suzu of her mother. However, he finds Suzu in front of him after spacing out, wondering why he has such a difficult face. Ikuto starts to worry, when everyone arrives at their house to break the silence.
Everyone tells Suzu that it was a coincidence that they all bumped into each other, and all present gifts to her that they picked up outside. Maki mentions that she is hungry, so Suzu continues to make lunch for all of them. Ikuto thinks to himself that there is no way it was a coincidence, and they all came to give Suzu company. Chikage, who is cold from the rain, asks if she can use Suzu’s bath. Ikuto has a bad feeling when everyone else suggests that they will go in too. His prediction is proved right when they all strip in front of him, causing him to have a huge nosebleed as usual.
After everyone leaves, Ikuto finds that even Suzu knew that they all came for her sake. Suzu tells Ikuto to look into the sky, and tells him that Otsuki-san is there. She begins to sing a song from the outside world that her mother would sing to her, as she remembers the rainy days she spent with her. Suzu’s mother told her that one day she would find a great person, and she would make a cute bride. Ikuto imagines Suzu as a bride, with himself at her side. Suzu wonders what he is thinking about, but he tries to avoid the question as the rain continues to pour.

What a…relaxing episode. There was very little bgm in this episode too, but I actually liked it this time. I’ve always liked the sound of rain for some reason. I only laughed once, at the very end of the episode when Suzu suggested that Ikuto was thinking about mama daifuku (although you could say that everyone stripping at the end was pretty shocking too xD). It really wasn’t suppose to be a funny episode though, and more of a heart warming one? It was pretty fun to watch everyone gather together. I really didn’t expect Suzu to start singing at the end though. I guess you could say this episode left somewhat of a Manabi effect, and offered a bit of foreshadowing for Ikuto and Suzu’s obvious relationship.

that song makes me cry
so sad
T_T
I cried too!!! I was weeping by the end. I laughed when Ituku starts spacing out dreaming of their *imaginary* wedding. I thought only girls did that? Does this mean he likes her?
Guys can think about things like that too, just not as munch I guess
. It’s pretty obvious that Ikuto likes Suzu. He’s just slow in the “love comedy male protagonist” type way.
I’m going to tell you all my honest, strong opinion about this episode. I absolutely LOVED it! I cried as well after watching Suzu sing that lovely song while there was a sweet flashback of Suzu & her mother followed by an imainary yet very beautiful & romantic scene where Ikuto and Suzu are in wedding clothes. Seriously, that song was wonderful considering that Suzu is beautiful and Yui Horie does the voice as well as singing. No way anyone can’t love it.
