10 Love Comedies that you may or may not know

This season has been full of love comedies (just take a look at what I’m blogging), but there have been many others throughout anime history. This is probably the genre I watch the most, only rivaled by slice of life. Here is a list of love comedies that you may or may not know.

1. DearS

A race of beautiful aliens have crash landed on earth, and now live with humans in Japan. Takeya saves a DearS on the way home one day, and she chooses him as her master. Ren, who is different from other DearS, tries her best to serve Takeya as his slave, but he believes the aliens are only trying to brainwash him.

Ok, so this has been my favorite love comedy forever. Maybe I have a strange obsession with master/slave relationships, but I’ll go super fanboy mode for Ren and her love of melon-pan. Oh, and NOT a chobits rip off kthxbye!! Read more

Touka Gettan Recruits Actresses for Scripting, Cameos

As reported by Anime News Network,

“Director Yuji Yamaguchi and series script supervisor Tomomi Mochizuki of Touka Gettan, the supernatural anime based on an adult game, announced they invited three voice actresses, including two from their last television series Yami to Bōshi to Hon no Tabibito (Yamibō), to write episodes. Yamibō’s Mamiko Noto (Hazuki) and Ai Shimizu (Eve) will also make cameos as their former characters in addition to writing episodes with Maria Yamamoto (Touka Gettan’s Hibari). The creators acknowledged earlier that all 26 episodes are airing in reverse order. Source: Moon Phase”

I’m very excited. Although I’ve never heard of them actually writing scripts before, Mamiko Noto and Ai Shimizu have been two of my favorite voice actresses for a long time. I’m definitely looking forward to the cameos as well. Just thinking of seeing Hazuki and Hatsumi again is exciting. I think this concept is just adding to Touka Gettan’s unique way of doing things. Previously discovered was the reverse order, which most of us figured out beforehand.
