School Days - 01
To start off today’s review of new shows, we have School Days. If you’ve seen the game clips that are floating around, you probably already know what to expect from the first episode.
Short Summary:
Ito Makoto has been interested in Katsura Kotonoha ever since he saw her running into the same train as his. One day in class, his friend Saionji Sekai sees that he has a picture of her in his phone, before taking her seat next to him. After learning that he is interested in her, she offers to help him. Taking him to the roof, she tells him that she has become friends with her through gym class. Makoto makes Sekai promise not to tell anyone about this, and later learns that Kotonoha is already interested in someone. Sekai has Makoto eat lunch with herself and Kotonoha on the roof, leaving the two alone afterwards. After getting to know her, Makoto decides to confess his feelings to Kotonoha, and thanks Sekai for helping him. The next day, Sekai finds that Kotonoha has accepted, and that the person she was interested in was no other than Makoto himself. Later, Sekai meets Makoto while he is waiting for a date with Kotonoha, and he tells her that she can do anything for helping him so much. Sekai kisses Makoto before boarding the arriving train, leaving him in shock. Later, Makoto looks to see if he will get into the same class as Kotonoha.
ED: “Usotsuki (ウソツキ)” by CooRie - a slow song. Fitting, but I’m not into it that much. I do like the images flashing on the cellphone though. It’s kind of unique.
Impression:
Well, this was just like every other romance anime I’ve ever seen…but I loved it! The animation was very good, as expected. The scenes and lines seem like they came straight out of the game. I didn’t actually play it, but the animations are all over the web. They were almost identical. The one thing I did notice was that they introduced some of the minor characters in the first episode, or at least showed them. I’d imagine that there will be a lot of rooting for the two different girls, so I’ll say that I’m liking Kotonoha better at the moment. I’m definitely going to be following this.

Yeah this will be very interesting. For those of you who don’t this is a famous hentai. Its famous for its bad and bloody endings. I hope they give us a bad ending.lol. Yeah i doubt that. I only saw the games bad ending on youtube. This will be a very interesting anime. I wonder which group will be subbing this?
FUCK? IT SEEMS TOTALLY THE SAME FROM THE INTRO OF THE GAME!
Sniper > Yea I actually have a feeling that they will be going down the more negitive path….there are quite a few hints in the first episode, like Makoto pushing Sekai against the gate, and the crashing glass in the introduction. Many people (including myself) have been planning on watching this for months, so I’d assume there will be quite a few groups picking this up.
bj0rn > Dude…it was the intro of the game. The only thing they addeded were some random scenes with the other characters xD.
Yes! Finally..
Actually, they sped up many scenes and dialogs from the intro. In the game, the kiss scene was both shocking and sad, but here, they just didn’t have enough time to squeeze in all the emotional cues and clues concerning Sekai, who is the most complicated character in School Days, except for her friend, Setsuna. I wish they kept and developed the original song from the game, as it conveyed the emotions of the game better, at least at the start.
maglor > hehe, yea I’m joking of course. You can’t deny that the scenes and lines are extremely similar to the game though. I thought the kiss scene was pretty fitting, but again, I haven’t actually played the game. It’s possible that it could have been a lot more powerful, I guess.
I hope they don’t make it like the game. I never really liked Sekai…she’s a hypocrite.
