Cats, cats, cats! There’s also a new ending today.

Short Summary:

On the way to school, Nagasumi picks up a cat that has been “attacking” Maki. However, he is surprised to find that San and Luna are afraid of it. At school, he decides to use this against Gouzaburou after seeing that Kai is also afraid of it. He is disappointed when Masa explains that adults do not fear cats, but to Nagasumi’s advantage, Gouzaburou is still afraid of cats because of an event that happened to him as a child. Gouzaburou and Maki plot against Nagasumi by summoning a team of three fish from home. They first set this plan of attack in gym class, but Nagasumi easily fools them into attacking Kai instead. They decide to go after the real Nagasumi in the school halls, but when the cat jumps out of Nagasumi’s uniform, the three along with Gouzaburou run in fear from it. Gouzaburou raises the fire alarm and Kai contacts the military, causing a huge panic in the school. Maki almost gets run over during the panic, but the cat saves her by carrying her outside to safety. Afterwards, one of the fish men gets close to Nagasumi while he is walking home with San and Luna, and takes the chance to throw the cat into the river. Nagasumi prepares to jump in after it, but San tells him that she is more suited for the water. She manages to get to the cat, but it seems to be drowning. Suddenly, Maki speeds through the water to save it, and successfully brings the cat out of the water. After returning home, Nagasumi notices that the cat is very attached to Maki, but everyone is still afraid of it.

ED: “Dan Dan Dan” by SUN&LUNAR – Wow, I wasn’t expecting the new ending at all. I like this one a lot more than the previous one. I’ve really liked the character songs that have been released, so hearing the seiyu sing in the ending is no exception. The animation has all of the characters in chibi forms, while spinning on sushi dishes.

Preview: Nagasumi prepares for a date with San, but Iinchou appears?

Impression:

At first I thought this episode wasn’t as funny as the previous few, because the cat joke was being pretty overused. However, that thought turned around as soon as Gouzaburou and Kai created the emergency at school. Its over exaggeration and the engrish lines had me laughing all over again. The cat vision transformations were also hilarious, especially with the music in the background. Seeing some mermaid action from San again was pretty awesome too. I guess this show is like a long joke that builds up to a huge punch line. The (maybe not so) regular love comedy date episode is next week, so that should be a lot of fun as usual. I wonder how big of a role Iinchou will get, since she hasn’t had a lot of screen time so far.
