School Days – 02
OP: “Innocent Blue (イノセント・ブルー)” by DeviceHigh – It sounds like the typical h-game adaption type song. Sometimes I wish there was some branching out from the typical, because all I can really say about this is “It’s fitting”. The animation is pretty standard too. I laughed at the random nudity though, and I think the feather scene at the end would probably make a nice wallpaper.
Short Summary:
Makoto meets Kotonoha for their first date, but he doesn’t seem to consider her feelings. He states that he has had fun at the end of the day and tries to get a kiss from her, but the train leaves before he can. Sekai tells Makoto what he has done wrong at school the next day, and gives him tickets to help him do better the next time. Makoto takes Kotonoha to the movies for another date, but picks the horror he wants to see instead of realizing that Kotonoha wanted to watch a romance. During one of the heated scenes, Makoto tries to make a move on Kotonoha, resulting in a slap to the face. They ride the train home in silence, and Sekai scolds Makoto again the next day. Makoto tries to find Kotonoha throughout the day to apologize, but she constantly avoids him. When he finally catches her, he tells her that he will be waiting for her at the train stop. When Kotonoha sees Sekai at the school entrance after her club activities, she informs her that she intended to take the bus home. Sekai suggests to Kotonoha that she should try thinking of Makoto’s feelings, and points out that they are both alike in that way. Kotonoha finally meets Makoto at the train station late at night, telling him that she wants to know more about him. Kotonoha then gives Makoto a kiss, while Sekai watches from a distance.
Impression:
Well, it’s pretty safe to say that there will be no watering down in this show, and a negative route is more than possible. I guess the scene with Kotonoha in the bathtub was kind of standard, but the sounds in the movie theater were pretty ridiculous. I think the word going around is that this is going to be a 12 episode series, and if it is, I wouldn’t be surprised. The plot is moving pretty quickly, and the new side characters just seem to be thrown in without proper introduction. The pacing is fine by me, but one thing that bothers me is how unrealistic the characters are. I know this is coming straight from an eroge, but come on. Makoto is a total douche bag, and of course, the girls seem more than ready to give it up for him. Oh well. It seems obvious that there will be some conflict between Sekai and Kotonoha somewhat soon, and I’m assuming that Makoto will get with Sekai at some point. I think this has gotten around so much that it probably can’t be considered a spoiler anymore, but apparently Kotonoha will have a personality change once the drama starts. I’ll still root for her all the way though. There’s nothing wrong with psychos. Kaede was my favorite character in Shuffle!

I couldn’t agree more…that’s enough to keep me from keeping watching–while no one watches bishoujo anime for the guy, having a weak main character that I can’t bring myself to like kind of ruins the series for me. Kind of like Takaaki in the To Heart 2 anime (although he seems better in the OVA than the TV series).
Love the nudity can’t wait for more.lol

To My Children,I’m the Wife,Two Lovers and Bloody Conclusion. {so much blood in that scene}
suguru > Yea…I’ve never seen a girl who would put up with that guy’s bs before, yet he practically has a harem. I think most people who are watching this show probably hate him, so we’ll just hope he has a negative ending xD.
Ryunatta > Heh, thanks. It surprises me how detailed the game is. I’ve also “obtained” all of the scenes from the game recently, but I dunno when I’ll get around to watching them. It’s like playing the game without all the clicking right? ;P
