This had to be the funniest Airantou episode yet. Toono punches Ikuto in the nuts!

Short Summary:

Ikuto and Suzu introduce a grateful Mei Mei to her new house next to the river. While Ikuto gets punched in the balls by Toono for not believing that he is a kappa, Mei Mei explains to Suzu how she met Toono. During her travels, she found him sealed in a small shrine. Because the land around him had become a city unsuited for kappa, she promised to help him find a place where his friends would be. Later, Ikuto and Suzu go out with Mei Mei so that she can get to know the villagers. However, she has trouble with everyone because of her nervousness. Because Ayane has not learned of the new villager yet, she decides to find her. Ayane gets a bit angry after seeing Mei Mei’s figure, but decides to help her after overhearing her troubles. After introducing herself, Ayane tells Mei Mei that she must learn to like herself before she can start getting along with others. When Toono is introduced, Ayane starts running like mad because of her fear of kappa. Before she can run off the edge of the island, Mei Mei jumps in front of her to stop her. Machi later reveals that it was actually herself that traumatized Ayane by dressing up as a kappa, so Toono remains clueless as to where his comrades are.

OP: Mei Mei and Toono got added to the opening in a few places, though the majority of the animation remains the same.

Impression:

Wow. I love Mei Mei. I don’t know what it is with her voice. It’s kind of annoying yet moe at the same time. I guess it’s like a girl with a lisp or something. Anyways, this episode had me laughing out loud all throughout the episode…and after. I had to pause when Toono punched Ikuto in the balls because I was laughing so hard. The fun didn’t stop with that, as all of the villagers messing with an embarrassed Mei Mei was hilarious. I can’t believe they didn’t introduce her until now. Ayane’s fear of kappa at the end was also a plus, and the entire episode consisted of people constantly freaking out. I didn’t realize this show could be so funny. If they can keep this up, I’ll be looking forward to this show a lot more from now on. Also, thanks to Aroduc, I’m getting all the wrong messages from this scene.
