I wonder if the anime will tone down all those subculture references that was all over the manga version. But seeing the name of your blog, I think you may well continue to like this series. I couldn't enjoy Lucky Star too because it's mostly centered on those galge and moe-kei things, but Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei covers almost the whole of Japan itself. (parodies of Amakudari? What the heck!)

Sniper > Heh, yea. Following SHAFT fashion, they seem to be giving Nozomu a harem. I only read a few chapters of the manga, but I don't think it was as focused on the characters' liking of Nozomu as the anime is.

Mintie > I don't think the show is really suppose to be offensive, but more enlightening. It shows things that are typically seen as negative to the majority, and gives insight on what people are really thinking. By showing how ridiculous these "problems" are, the people who suffer from them can accept themselves more as well. It's kind of like NHK ni Youkoso! and Densha Otoko in that way. I just think some things are brought so far, that there will probably be people who are offended by the way they display them. For example, the way they portrayed Maria was blatantly obvious. That's my opinion anyways ^.

And yea, I laughed out loud at the Death Note parody. It was delayed too, because it happened so fast. xD

Oh, spoofs. Haha. So I saw the Deathnote cap thumbnail and was thinking, "Huh, is this DN cap lost?" ;) Then I found out they were references. How cool.

I always thought that if it seemed this show was aiming to offend, that it was on purpose, since it's a satire. They're making fun of reality, after all. XD
