Seto no Hanayome – 16
What’s better than the introduction of a new character? San freaking out! *dies of moe overload*
Summary:
Gouzaburou introduces yet another transfer student to the class, Shiranui Akeno. Everyone welcomes her to the class in their own ways, but when they introduce themselves, they are surprised to find that Akeno already knows a lot about them. Kai gets into an argument with Nagasumi shortly after introducing himself, causing Akeno to violently label him as a failure. Finding her actions strange, San finally finds out that Akeno is actually a mermaid as well. Akeno reveals to her that she has come to test the mermaids to see if they can live with humans, and if they fail they would be sent back home. With this, San becomes very nervous for the rest of the day. Nagasumi consults San after he notices how strange she is acting in all of their classes, but San convinces him that she can deal with her problem alone. Becoming confident after talking to Nagasumi, San finally chooses to continue on as she always does. However, she suddenly has a flower vase fall on her legs out of clumsiness, causing her legs to revert. Before anyone can witness this, Akeno swiftly disables everyone in the classroom, causing a huge panic. Gouzaburou’s cronies and Kai challenge her in the hall, but they are easily defeated. The students gain hope when Gouzaburou arrives, but even he submits to Akeno’s orders. San comes out into the hall after drying her legs, and she ends up having to defend herself as well. However, she quickly gives up after seeing that she has failed by almost having her identity revealed. She learns that she would have to leave in a week after failing, but Akeno surprisingly denies her failure and leaves them.

Wow. I don’t know how they do it. It was like they threw last week’s episode at us to get it out of the way, just to return to the awesome set of hilarity we have been receiving recently. San freaking out in this episode was way too cute, and so was Luna in innocent mode which we haven’t been able to see in awhile. If the moe factor wasn’t enough, this episode had me laughing the entire way through all over again. This show is very over the top as usual, and the jokes come so fast that it is hard to absorb sometimes. Akeno’s fighting scenes were surprisingly awesome, and some of the scenes in this episode felt out of place because they were so epic. Gonzo should really stick to comedies, because they don’t fail at it. Next week’s episode looks just as awesome, and I am once again as excited about Seto no Hanayome as I was before. Do you guys like the new header? It’s from the Wishing! single’s cover, and it actually made an appearance in this episode. L-U-N-A-R!

I wonder if Akeno will fall in love with Nagasumi
Argh, I wish a subgroup other than Otacon would catch up on this series.
Sniper > Being the kind of show this is, I wouldn’t be too surprised. I think they will be giving her more of a “San’s protector” kind of role though. ;P
Shirukii > Is there something wrong with Otacon? I haven’t watched any Seto subs.. :S
Their video encoding is massive fail and their translations are often questionable.
I’d watch them raw, but my comprehension level isn’t quite up for Seto no Hanayome just yet =(
Ah I see. Judging from their releases on TT, I think they focus more on speed though…and because of some of the horrible official subs I’ve seen before (Viz, ADV, ect) I don’t judge subbers too harshly for mistakes. But again, I haven’t watched Otacon’s subs :S.
And yea, Seto no Hanayome’s dialog is pretty fast so I know what you mean lol. I actually self study a lot of Japanese in my free time, and that’s one of the main purposes of this blog though, so I can comprehend more than someone that just picked up the language by just listening to it. (Ew…that sounds like I’m bragging >.<)
shiraniu is so serious yet cute ~ ; )
NICE HEADER! I L-O-V-E LUNA! LOL YUP THIS EP. IS HILARIOUS, ONCE AGAIN SETO NO HANAYOME NEVER FAILS TO AMUSE ME!
