Avisch > Yea, at first I thought the guy was really just calling Dante Tony as a mistake. I haven’t read any of the novels, but it just seems really random.

Sniper > It’s not like it doesn’t have a plot per say, it just doesn’t follow anything from the games. The anime is based off the novels and manga that were released separately from the games, and they tell the story of Dante’s background and his odd jobs at the Devil May Cry.

Man Dante’s whole Tony alias really screws over the anime’s place in the continuity of DMC.

No one has stated the exact canon past of Dante.
There is one novel that details his past as Tony but it really doesn’t make sense if you know everything about Dante’s brother.
