School Days – 07
Gogo Setsuna!
Summary:
While spending time together on the rooftop with Makoto, Sekai wonders why Kotonoha hasn’t been showing up lately. Makoto suggests that she is busy with club activities, but Kotonoha is actually standing outside the door listening to them. While knitting in her room later, Kotonoha wonders why Makoto has been doing those kinds of things with Sekai. She thinks that it must be because she needs to try harder, when her sister comes in to ask if she can go to the school festival with her to see Makoto. Later in school while discussing activities, Setsuna tells everyone that Makoto has broken up with Kotonoha and is now going out with Sekai. Elsewhere, things are being pushed onto Kotonoha as usual. and Nanami informs Otome of the news she heard about Kotonoha. Kotonoha tries to approach Makoto after a meeting, but Setsuna pulls him away. After they have gotten away from her, Setsuna also blocks Kotonoha’s number from Makoto’s cell phone. Kotonoha stays in a state of confusion while the festival activities are going on, until she meets Makoto again. He manages to talk to her this time, but Setsuna continues to tell him to avoid her for Sekai’s sake. Makoto can’t help but go after Kotonoha, but he finds that she is getting help from Taisuke when he finds her. As the rest of the girls arrive, they watch as Taisuke asks Kotonoha to attend the folk dance with him. Kotonoha runs out after hearing that he thought that she broke up with Makoto, but she is stopped by Nanami who doesn’t believe that her actions were innocent. Kotonoha arrives at Makoto’s apartment at night while Sekai is inside. Makoto tries to convince her that things are alright with his phone now, and that he cannot talk to her because he isn’t feeling well. Kotonoha sees that Sekai’s shoes are there, but she leaves anyways. Sekai runs out of Makoto’s apartment in tears shortly afterwards, and she finds that Kotonoha is waiting for her outside. Declaring that what she is doing isn’t fair, Kotonoha gives Sekai a slap in the face.
Impression:
So when Kotonoha finds out about Makoto and Sekai, instead of doing anything about it, she decides to sit around and watch for awhile….ok. Setsuna’s interference has started moving things in a bad direction, particularly for Kotonoha. However, I think we could still blame this on everyone’s indecisiveness. Kotonoha finally faces Sekai, but we’ll have till the next episode to find out what happens with that. Unfortunately, I just can’t get as excited about this show as everyone else is. I was looking forward to it in the beginning, but it now seems like the Sola of the new season. What that means is that everyone is following this show, yet I feel like I’m the only one that doesn’t see what is so great about it. What’s next? Maybe I’ll cover the second Suzumiya Haruhi despite not being a Haruhist. There was so much build up in this episode, but I just couldn’t get into the drama at all. For example, the unraveling of Kotonoha’s knitting probably represented the falling apart of her relationship with Makoto, but I felt like it was just a waste of a half a minute. I guess I just see this as too much of an h-game adaption to take it seriously. At least I still have a lot to say about it, which I guess is more important than loving a show in blogging. Oh yea, and……moe!!! I think I just joined the bandwagon of Setsuna fans because of that scene. I also found Hikari’s orz scene quite hilarious.
EDIT: Oh crap, I almost forgot! Makoto = douche bag(6). This time it is because the only reason he wanted to talk to Kotonoha was to look through her wet shirt.

Totali: I think what makes Sola a great series is because it has good cliff-hanger at the end of each episode. I feel like I can’t wait for the next episode each week. Overall, it was great series, but it still far from being perfect like you say.
Well, since you didn’t call Makoto as a douche bag in episode one, you should call him as a douche bag twice for the next episode.

I hate Setsuna beceause she dont know why Katsura and Makoto broken! (sry for this, im an hungarian) Cuz that b*tch Sekai! Sekai and Setsuna dies! orz Katsura the most kawaii and beautiful character. Katsura WINS!
For all the praise I give this show, and all the things I have to say about it. At its base, it’s generic melodrama, which I happen to like, but it’s in no way anything new and exciting. Any random soap opera or romance drama on TV could probably match it. What WILL set it apart is the BAD END, which is hopefully imminent.

kenshin514 > I already talked about my opinion on sola in my final impression of that show so I won’t go further than that. I actually planned on calling Makoto a douche bag twice in my final SD post to make up for the one missing….once in the impression and once in the final impression xD

Sonozaki > Haha, definitely xD. I actually think Setsuna is pretty cute, but her actions are sending things the wrong way. I don’t like Sekai because she is so indecisive…just like Makoto. I’m just waiting for Kotonoha to really snap…that will be sweet.
Shirukii > I usually love dramas like say, H&C or Nana, and I thought that I couldn’t take this seriously because of its source…but then I remember that I liked KGNE as well. I guess I just can’t appreciate the way they do things with this show. I dunno. As for blogging the show, it’s not that I dislike it, it’s just that I don’t enjoy it as much as some of the other shows I am watching. That, and probably because I don’t want to drop a 12 episode show xD. I’m the type that can watch shows all the way through even if I don’t think it is that great. :S
Although I like Kotonoha the best..I wish she was a bit mor confident…I mean she’s smart and pretty!!! wtf..she needs 2 toughen up..but Sekai is also a bit of a wimp…she needs to tell Kotonoha how she feels instead of being a bitch about it. I also dislike Setsuna..it’s not her problem..stay out of it..u just cause more drama. I agree maybe it was my fault 4 counting on the anime of an H game….oo and Makoto..well I won’t say anything about his stupid ass.
hmm what can i say? Sekai deserved the slap. man that sucks that Makoto would choose Sekai over Kotonoha…i would choose Kotonoha anyday =D!
watching this anime now really makes me have not much of an opinion nor comment though..duno what to say/think
