School Days – 09
He gets the shaft, she gets the shaft, they’re a big shaft getting family!
Summary:
Kotonoha confronts Setsuna about her kissing Makoto. Setsuna explains that she will be leaving soon and that she wanted a memory for herself, but Kotonoha continues to insist that she is Makoto’s girlfriend and believes that Setsuna has only been trying to get between herself and him. The next day at the festival, Setsuna leaves the work up to her team, as she leaves to attend the festivities. While watching the play that is being put on, Setsuna draws a similarity between it and her own situation. Sekai and Makoto work together like a couple, while Kotonoha gets harassed about her work as usual. Taisuke later stops by to talk to Kotonoha, and once again asks her to the folk dance. However, she continues to insist that she is Makoto’s girlfriend. During his break, Makoto meets Otome, and she asks him to spend some time with her. Otome tries to tell Makoto her feelings, but he is dragged off by Sekai before she can. Makoto is alerted about a visitor of his, and he finds that Kokoro has come to see him. With her is her friend, Uzuki. Kotonoha is confronted by her classmates again later, while they suggest that she is the only one that still believes she is going out with Makoto. Otome meets up with Taisuke outside, and he explains the situation between Makoto and Kotonoha to her. Otome meets with Makoto again, but this time she quickly drags him off to the nurse’s room. After confessing to him, they make love. Kotonoha finds Taisuke in a room while looking for Makoto, and he explains to her that Makoto does not believe that they are going out anymore. Taisuke tells Kotonoha that she has been betrayed, and confesses his love while embracing her. At the folk dance, Makoto dances with Sekai as Setsuna watches from afar. Sekai confirms that she and Makoto are dating, but Makoto only smiles.
Impression:
My “school days” prevented me from blogging this show until now, if you catch my drift. Anyways, wow. This episode was ridiculous. It was like all of the different kinds of dysfunctional relationships were thrown together into one package. Everyone seems to get the shaft except for that douche bag(8) Makoto! It makes no sense! I’ve also noticed that I really cannot handle h-game adaption type shows the way I used to. With School Days even using the same seiyuu that the game used, my toleration rate gets lower with every viewing. However, it does look like things are finally moving forward to the hopefully negative ending. Makoto’s harem increases once again, with Otome finally confessing to him. Not only that, but she is completely fine with being his secret friend with benefits. I would really like to see what all of these girls see in this guy, and the shallow background stories they give really doesn’t help that much. My usual flames aside, I actually like Otome’s character. She is pretty tsuntsun awesome. I also loved Makoto’s scared face after seeing all the messages he had received from Kotonoha (stalker….), and Kotonoha’s horrifying expression while being embraced by Taisuke. It’s coming soon, and you know what I’m talking about. With only a few episodes left, I assume that Makoto will official stay as Sekai’s girlfriend until something else happens around that. My reviews will continue to be late with my University schedule, but I won’t let my anti-Makoto campaign fall!

Your impressions match mine to a close 80%.
First off, i dislike Otome, i don´t know why though.
Secondly, i find School Days to be much of a win if you compare it to other lame school life harem shows, mainly because it actually has sex involved and the mixed feelings that everyone in this show has shine through very nicely.
I´m not completely sure Makoto will end up with Sekai, mainly because i don´t think she would accept his cheating on her, but again we have the fact that she actually sees something in a duchebag like Makoto to begin with call her sanity into question.
So we can safely assume Kotonoha gave it up for Daisuke, since her hair was all messed up and she was sweaty in the final shot of her, she had those empty SEED eyes that can make your imagination wander and also her ribbon fell down.
The way Makoto continues to get away with it amazes me…
Great Epi ( :
(ohh and i´m first!)
We all know that Otome was desperate but to go that far for that guy amazes me. I wonder if she knoe that Ito is going out with Sekai? This is so heading down the Bloody Conclusion ending. SO much blood. We can assume that Kotonoha gets rape
I really hope that Ito dies. The Drama, Romance and action are increasing
Your little line before the whole family made me chuckle.
Man, this show is pretty good when it comes to leading its fans on to an emotionally-charged bad end. Take that, hormones!
Dularc > I used to dislike Otome too…I guess that’s why I liked her so much in this episode….she went tsuntsun! I admit that School Days is probably less shallow than most of the other harem h-game adaption shows but I just can’t get over that it is based off an h-game! I dunno, it just bothers me for some reason. I used to love shows like Shuffle too…maybe my tastes changed when I wasn’t paying attention. I didn’t say he would necessarily end up with Sekai, but with such a small amount of episodes left, I just don’t think he will be going anywhere else anytime soon. Otome has never really been in the equation, and she already confirmed that she is fine with “keeping it secret” or whatever with Makoto. Kotonoha is also going insane.
Sniper > I totally forgot to mention that Taisuke probably had sex with Kotonoha. Otome is very aware of the situation, as she already knew Makoto would be going with someone else to the folk dance. She still gave it up though. It was so easy to put her off with the childhood friend complex….sigh.
Hemisphere > Everything is heading into a bad direction and everyone knows it! I also read somewhere that the rating was changing as of this episode or something? Expect a horridly bad (good?) ending.
I thought that Makoto couldn’t screw up more than what he already did, but somehow he screwed up in this episode even more. So far, everything seems to lead up to a bad ending. Oh well, at this point, the douche bag should die, which is the perfect ending according to my opinion.
Totali: How do you know that Taisuke will have sex with Kotonoah?
*chants*
“Bad End! Bad End!”
It has always been my desire to see a Psycho-moe-rific ending from School Days, and at this point, it seems I will get my wish.
School Days is famous for its Bad Ends, it would be silly of the studio to not cater to this. ^^;
Cheers.
To Totali: I heard this show is now R rated.
kenshin514 > It’s not will. It was implied that it already happened at the end of this episode, with the falling ribbon and Kotonoha’s lack of rational reasoning.
Skane > I don’t know about you, but I’ve been waiting for Kotonoha to go psycho since episode one. Wow, that’s going to be hot.
Dularc > Yea, that’s what I heard. I’m stil not sure how that’s going to work for TV broadcast, but we’ll see how interesting it gets.
poor Kotonoha keeps getting bullied around =\ but somehow i seem to want to continue watching the series hoping that something bad happens to everyone else except Kotonoha -_-
I was hoping that as well, but it looks like she is getting the biggest shaft out of everyone right now…maybe she can kill everyone. I mean, that would be a pretty awesome ending imo.
