Pink Elephant Rice Cooker – 22

Also known as Tonkatsu’s Big Adventure, or that love comedy with all of the animals in it.

Summary:

While transferring supplies home one night with Kuma Kuma and Inu Inu, Yukino comes across a glowing blue feather. When the morning comes, Suzu walks outside to find Ikuto practicing his swordsmanship. She mentions that it would be good if he could go home soon, before excusing herself to wash her face. At the river, Suzu thinks that she was actually being selfish, and wanted to stay with Ikuto forever. Shortly after, Yukino appears to alert Suzu of her discovery. If they found the legendary blue bird from which the feather fell from, they could have their wishes granted. Ikuto finds that Suzu has gone with Yukino to search for the feather, so he goes with Tonkatsu and a friendly bunny to find fire wood instead. While doing this, he unthinkingly asks Suzu for some help, but realizes that she isn’t there. Suzu starts a conversation about the legend with Yukino and her friends, but she becomes shocked after hearing that they only see the legend as a children’s story. They hear something in the bushes shortly after, and they look past it to see a small blue bird. They don’t believe that this is the bird they are looking for, but Yukino starts chasing after it anyways because it is cute. While chasing after it, the crew falls into a pit in the ground. They find that it is impossible to climb out, so their only hope is to wait for help to arrive. Meanwhile, Ikuto and Kagami become worried because Suzu and Yukino haven’t came back after so long. Of course, Ikuto and the animals decide to search for them.

Yukino and her friends start despairing because they are hungry and they don’t believe they will be found, but Suzu brings out food and assures them that Ikuto will find them. Yukino expresses how amazing Suzu is and talks about all of her good qualities, but Suzu doesn’t think this is true at all. It starts pouring rain, which makes everyone panic because the scent will be lost for Ikuto to search with. However, the mystical blue bird shows itself to Ikuto just in time. Ikuto follows this, until the finally finds Suzu and the others. While Ikuto starts helping them, the mystical bird is revealed to be the dull looking one that Yukino chased after earlier. The rest of the villagers gather together to help Suzu and the others get out, and they all leave until only Ikuto and Suzu are left. Ikuto starts heading home too, but he finds that Suzu has an injury. This angers him, not because of what Suzu did, but because she wouldn’t tell him about the injury. Suzu starts shedding tears of happiness as Ikuto offers a ride on his back. While carrying her, Ikuto thinks to himself that Suzu isn’t the strong person everyone thinks she is. He states that she only does her best, when she is actually a very lonely person. Because of this, he wants to become stronger for her. Suzu expresses that Ikuto also believes that Ikuto is an important part of her family, and Ikuto hopes that the times can always stay the way they are. Suzu agrees, as she lays her head on Ikuto’s shoulders.

Impression:

The animation was really lacking again, and a dog yelling out Iku Iku over and over again doesn’t exactly rub off on me well. Yukino also seemed very out of character at some points of this episode, and where did Suzu hide all of that fruit!? With that out of the way, I actually liked this episode a lot! It seems like everyone else is too busy flaming the episode, and I usually would too, but come on. It was Ikuto x Suzu! LOVE POWER!! The last couple lines of the episode with Ikuto carrying Suzu were really great. I almost shiku shiku-ed. Although you could say that the blue bird actually got Yukino and Suzu into all the trouble in the first place, I thought it was a pretty nice touch. Maybe I’m just a sucker for really pretty and mystical scenes. Tonkatsu also got a lot of screen time in this episode, and he’s like my favorite character. So yea, that was pretty win. With only a couple of episodes left, I’m not expecting anything special, but hopefully this show can surpass some of our expectations.

Wow. This is a very bad anime. I fail to see the plot of this anime if there is one :( The characters are “kinda” good at showing there feeling to Ikuto or is it because I’ve seen better than this. Yeah i have to agree with you, even i like those mystical scenes :)

Sigh…it seems like I’m the only person who tries to cut this show some slack. It definitely isn’t anywhere close to being one of the better love comedies of the season, but oh well.

aurabolt > I have no idea what you might be referring to!
