Suteki Tantei Labyrinth - 01

Do you like mysteries?

Short Summary:

A young boy, Hyuga Mayuki, gets off of the phone with a detective on the other side, before explaining how his town has become a ruin. He states that although many have left, he will not because of his special reasons. Inogami Ryusuke and his parter investigate various parts of the city for their case, before traveling to Mayuki’s mansion. Elsewhere in school, a group of kids discuss the rumors they have been hearing about the mansion. Believing that it is haunted, three of them make their way inside. There is a scream within the house, causing the kids to believe that there really is a ghost. This also makes the detectives suspect that the person they met inside is a culprit. In another mansion room, a woman named Byakko faces off against Shinao Seiran’s dolls. The kids and the two detectives eventually find themselves in a room, where Mayuki shows up to introduce himself. He also introduces the group to the maid, Mieno Hatsumi. With this, everyone gathers to further discuss the mystery they are interested in.

ED: I like the ED! Make fun of me if you want, but I’ve grown to like these kinds of songs recently. The actual animation only gives us recap images from the episode.

Preview: The story progresses.

Impression:

I was making fun of this show in my preview, but it was surprisingly good! That’s not to say that it was amazing, and I did laugh at how overplayed the boy Mayuki was. What was up with that light? Haha. Anyways, the animation for this show is very nice. They even showed us some impressive fight scenes. The story itself is obviously centered around mysteries, and its pretty safe to assume that Mayuki is a genius boy detective (check the title). I find the rest of the characters pretty typical as well, but I liked the “dolls” and the girl villain Bakko. It was really surprising to find that Yui Horie was voicing her. I wouldn’t have even noticed if I didn’t know beforehand. I’m expecting this show to have a nice mix of humor and plot drive, especially after seeing the funny maid. I don’t plan on following the series though. I’m just really feeling the series introductions this season!

I love mysteries! The characters look cute. Does it have a supernatural thing to it? I hope not and maybe I’ll check it out sometime. Hmmm. =D

What was up with that light? Haha.

I was wondering about that too. Haha. It looked like Hei from Darker than Black got him or something… =P
