Sketchbook ~full color’S~ – 02

OP: “Kaze Sagashi (風さがし)” by Natsumi Kiyoura – The OP is very easy going, and perfect for the series. The animation is just as simple. I love it!

Summary:

Sora decides to start her day off differently from the way she usually does. Walking out of the house with a different foot, and missing the bus, she looks around for the cats that are usually in the area. She finds that most of them are not there, and one has even changed. At school, she meets with Natsumi and Hazuki who have been talking about the weather. They mention that Kasugano-sensei has something special prepared for that day, before heading to class. In English class, Sora finds a four leafed clover in the book that she rarely uses. Meeting up with Natsumi and Hazuki again, the girls decide to have lunch in a different place than usual. They meet with Kamiya Asaka in the classroom, while she is eating in front of her painting. In that room, the girls become excited when Sora finds that the pet lobster eats things that they drop into its tank.

Later that day, while the girls are working on their art projects, Kasugano-sensei enters to deny their leaving until her secret weapon appears. Nagisa and Juju find an angry Negishi outside, before he walks into the art room. He lets out a scream as the cat he sees runs out, and Sora notices that it is Mike. This is a cat that she usually spends time with. As Negishi makes preparations to defend the art room and catch the cat, Sora searches for Mike. The rest of the students fail to find Mike, until Kuga finds it in the hallway. She begins talking to it, but Mike soon runs off when Natsumi and the other girls arrive.

Kasugano-sensei finally arrives with her item, but she soon breaks it in front of the class. With this, the activities end for the day. However, Negishi still won’t get over the cat. Although no one was able to find Mike, Sora finds him in the place he is always at. She wonders if it was fun for him to experience the day differently from usual, and expresses that she should return to normal as well. With this, she returns home as she usually does, to the voice of her younger brother.

Preview: We meet Sora’s brother, and it’s off to the festival!

Impression:

Man, I love this show! I’m so happy right now! This episode was no where as funny as the last, but I never expected this show to be the most humorous around. As with Aria, it just gives off that beautiful slice of life feel. Being so associated with art, I can relate so much. I really want to go outside right now and experience life (Oh wait, it’s like 8:00 at night. Let’s scratch that and blog anime instead). The way Sora did things differently than she usually does was such a great theme. If you didn’t know, artists typically do this kind of thing for inspiration. Seeing the world in a slightly different way really puts things into perspective. As with any other slice of life series, the small things in this episode also made me love it. I got kind of nostalgic with the high school art events, and Ryou and Fuu’s scenes were really cute. I love the music in this show, especially with the introduction of the OP. I didn’t even need a second episode to confirm that I will be blogging this show from here on out. We’re off to the festival next week!

Jesus159159159 > Wasn’t it great!? As far as my art goes…haha, dunno. I do have a few works laying around, but I’ve been too lazy to upload it to the net. The chances are kinda slim xD.

Anonymous > Man, that is so off topic that you fell off the earth. WOO!

StevieWonder > LOL Maple Story…I didn’t even watch it. Why don’t you get some McDonalds, if you know what I mean?
