Kimikiss pure rouge - 03
Do you…have any karate books available!?
Summary:
While getting off the train, Yumi fixes the cover on a book she was reading. As she walks to school, she sees Kouichi with Mao. This makes her remember what she saw the previous day. Nana and Narumi play with their frogs again outside of the school building, but this makes Kazuki remember Eriko again when they kiss. Kouichi and Mao arrive soon afterwards. Nana brings a flyer to Mao inside, as she invites her to a karaoke box. When Mao finds that the five people invited are not enough, she forces Kazuki and Kouichi to find two more members. Kazuki finds Eriko at the break, but he is unable to call out to her. Kouichi attempts to tell Yumi about the karaoke box in the library, but he cannot come up with the courage. This makes Mao very frustrated, as she scolds Kouichi and asks Yumi for him. With this, Yumi finally accepts their invitation.
The seventh person to join the karaoke group turns out to be Akira, as Kazuki was unable to find anyone else. Mao meets with Yumi in the bathroom after singing once, and clears up the situation she has with Kouichi. She explains to Yumi that she is more of a sister to Kouichi, and wishes her luck with him. When the two girls return to the karaoke room, they find Kouichi and Kazuki in an awkward situation after losing to Nana and Narumi. As the group finally leaves that night, Mao has Kouichi accompany Yumi home. Mao encounters Kai outside of a bar while walking back, and discovers that he is working in exchange for being able to practice his music. Mao expresses how wonderful that is, before excusing herself for interrupting him. Before parting with Yumi at the train station, Kouichi calls out to her. He wishes to talk to her more at school at various times from now on, and she agrees. With this, the two go home with smiles on their faces.
Preview: The focus switches to Eriko.

I love this show!!! Man, it feels like it’s been forever since I’ve watched something like this. It feels so annoying when Kouichi and Yumi obviously like each other, but when they finally reach out, it’s like shouting for joy. The train scene and tie ins were so awesome, and the directing is very good as expected. I thought it was great when Yumi finally found out that Mao was more of a sister type childhood friend to Kouichi, complete with the girl talk in the bathroom. Mao has her own interests in Kai, so I’m pretty sure we won’t be getting any love conflicts in this show. We don’t need it either. I’ve been getting really tired of the stereotypical childhood friend love complexes. The karaoke box segment of the episode instantly made me think of character albums that will be released, especially with Mao singing the OP. I can’t say I really like Nana and Narumi that much. They’re ok, if not just a bit annoying. It was really funny when they made Kazuki panic from their frogs kissing though. Kazuki had to settle for that stalker Akira this time, but maybe he’ll get a better chance next episode.

Although quite good, I would prefer some love conflicts really. Anyways, we’ll see how it goes as it is still quite a good watch.
I’m quite happy with no conflict, although I wouldn’t mind if we got it via a Eriko-Kazuki-Asuka triangle. The one thing I don’t want to see is Mao realizing that she’s in love with Kouichi (or vice-versa). It’s the most obvious plot twist available right now, but surely J.C. Staff can avoid it. I hope. Something like that would probably ruin, at least for me, what’s shaping up to be a truly enjoyable show.
Deranged > Eh, drawing so many parallels to H&C and Nodame, I think it would be better if the conflict was minimal. I do think some drama would fit into the series, but too much just seems like it would be out of place.
ps: site..etc etc xD
Erin > The triangle you mentioned seems more than likely. I’ve also found out that this show is going to be going on for 25(?) episodes instead of the 12 I predicted, so there’s plenty of time for change. And about the Kouichi/Mao thing….tell me about it. I hate it when stuff like that happens. If they actually do that, I think I’ll facepalm. Luckily, it doesn’t look like that will be happening any time soon.
I hope Nana and Narumi won’t be annoying like the last episode. Well, most of people can see the Eriko-Kazuki-Asuka romance-triangle. My hunch says that the Kouichi-Yumi-Mitsuki triangle may happen. I think Mao is going to be the person who just helps out Kouichi and Kazuki. Then again, it doesn’t make sense why did she come back to Japan. I guess, I have to wait longer to find out. Man, can’t wait for the sub.
Ah Mitsuki….it’s hard to tell what she’ll be bringing to the table since she hasn’t been shown much. I guess putting her in that kind of position would make sense though. Mao’s story will be good enough with Kai. I’d rather not have her enter any triangles.
