Shakugan no Shana 2 – 04
Shana: “You can make birds fly to your hands!? I’m pissed!” *tsuntsuns off*
Summary:
Yuuji offers to help with any of Fumina’s problems, as he walks to school with her and Shana. Shana remembers when the teacher suggested that Fumina move next to Hayato for help, but she had held on to Yuuji. Kazumi greets the three as they arrive at school, before they all head to class. Kazumi and Yuuji stop Fumina from getting hurt while they are cleaning the pool, and Matake starts a water fight with Eita and the others. Fumina eyes Yuuji’s meals at lunch, so he shares them with her. This includes Shana’s melon bread. Hayato implies that Kazumi should follow Yuuji as he leaves with Fumina after school, but this makes Shana even more irritated as it is usually only herself and Yuuji. The group expresses interest in a new restaurant that has opened, but they find that Fumina has walked off while they have been observing it. Shana complains to her, but the group then follows Fumina to a park where she is able to summon a bird to her hands. Wilheimina discusses the matter of Fumina with Margery at her place, and the term “Outlaws” is explained to Keisaku.
Meanwhile, Shana is giving a rougher than usual training session to Yuuji. As they finish up, Yuuji is again reminded of the potential he has within him. Yuuji and Keisaku begin a food eating contest when the usual group visits the new restaurant the next day, but they are interrupted when the girls find that Fumina has gone missing. The group begins searching for Fumina, but Shana wonders why Yuuji has an obligation to do so. Yuuji chases after Shana as she leaves for home, and he questions why she is angry. He expresses the fact that they have already found that Fumina is not a Tomogara, but Shana states that this is not the problem. As Shana leaves Yuuji behind, Kazumi begins to put the blame on herself. When the group starts searching for Fumina, Yuuji guesses that she is at the park. This turns out to be right, as Yuuji finds Fumina helping a baby bird there. Yuuji notices that Fumina really does resemble Hecate, as Kazumi witnesses the two smiling at each other from a distance. This interrupts Kazumi’s usual actions when she returns home, and Yuuji learns from Wilheimina that Shana will not be going to his house that night. The next morning, Shana avoids Yuuji, and Kazumi goes to her side.

Impression:
Wow, this episode was so stupid. Maybe I was just let down because I was expecting too much from last week. Is every show going love comedy mode now? Usually I would be making fun of the episode while enjoying it, but it just all seemed way too cheesy this time. I guess I don’t like it when they actually try to take themselves seriously about this kind of stuff. I mean, what was up with that pool scene? That was so lame! I don’t even want to go into Fumina and those freaking birds. They flew onto Yuuji’s shoulder as he stared at her!? Um…ok! I also love how Yuuji suspected that Fumina would be in the park by the end of the episode. OH NO, I would have never guessed that one!!! The animation has already taken a huge dip as well, and the awkward shifts in perspective were really annoying in this episode. Next week looks to be more of the same thing, but hopefully I will be able to appreciate it more. Kazumi and Shana seem to be banded together by girl power and stuff, so that might be something new.
EDIT: Ok, I don’t know what I was thinking. This episode was hilarious. Did you see that meron pan? It was huge! HAHA sleeping loli alert!!!

This poses something intruging. If Yuuji ends up (in some freak turn of events that nobody, even me imagining it, could see coming) with Hecate then that leaves room for delicous KazumiXShana. What a plesant idea. Two bad it’ll never happen. That would be so awesome. XD

Yeah seriously, it’s one thing when they throw a character into a maid’s outfit once as fanservice, but when she’s always in a maid outfit there is something really kinky about that (probably why I like Reika so much in Ninomiya-kun).
Although, her Flame Haze form looks dumb because of that weird mask.
