Kodomo no Jikan – 03

I’m gonna kick you in the nuts!

Summary:

Mimi hides herself while changing in the classroom, as Rin sends Daisuke a picture mail. He gets this mail while talking to another teacher, but he puts it off as spam. Kuro crashes in while trying to stop him from looking, but kicks Daisuke in the nuts out of her own embarrassment. During gym class, Daisuke notices that Mimi is more developed than she probably should be for her age. Daisuke starts to ask Kyoko about what he should do about this, but this causes a big misunderstanding. Kuro prepares to take the sip of the drink Rin offers her in class, but Daisuke takes it away. Kuro expresses what a waste it is to throw it away, so Daisuke drinks it himself. This results in another kick in the nuts from Rin, as he had just stolen her kiss. Daisuke thinks of the problems he has that afternoon, as Rin shows herself to him. Fooling him and putting a piece of candy in his mouth, she expresses that this is the same sweet taste that is currently in her own mouth. At school the next day, Mimi questions Kyoko about her breasts. Kyoko tells her how to make them big, but also that they aren’t all good. Mimi knows this, so she avoids things like milk during lunch. Kuro and Rin suggest that Mimi wear a bra, but she avoids this.

While walking home that day, Daisuke sees the inappropriate magazine that Kuro is always reading. At home, Kuro cannot stop thinking about Rin. The boys tease Mimi for wearing a bra the next day, making her run out of the classroom. Daisuke wonders what Rin and Kuro are doing as they beat up the boys, before they run out after Mimi. After hearing of her discomfort, Kuro and Rin quickly find that Mimi bought the wrong size of bra on her own. Kuro asks to borrow the bra, and she gets the money back through certain means. The girls visit a bra shop afterwards, as they find the right kind for Mimi. A nervous Kyoko passes the principal at school, and she finally asks Daisuke if he would like to go out for a drink that night. Daisuke agrees, but so does the other teacher. Daisuke requests a bit of help from Rin the next day, and she claims that she will help with Mimi. In exchange, Rin embraces Daisuke. Rin tells Daisuke what they have already done the previous day as she leaves the room, and Daisuke looks outside to see a smiling Mimi. He overhears the girls talking about what he thinks is a doll later, but he opens the classroom door to find Rin in the same garment he saw in Kuro’s magazine.

Preview: It’s off to the pool, and Daisuke finally meets Reiji.

Impression:

I’m still iffy about this show, but as you can tell, I’m still following it for now. Hardly anyone in the community is covering it, but I guess I can see why. This episode was at least a lot funnier than the last. I finally noticed what was being implied by those faucets (Wow, haha). The best part of this episode probably had to be Kuro’s numerous attacks on Daisuke. He even covered himself in preparation eventually! I also like how Kuro and Rin went street fighter on the boys who were making fun of Mimi. Kuro definitely wins. Her room was pretty awesome, and it was hilarious to hear the store personal refer to her as “Kagami-sama”. Did you just think about Lucky Star? I did. Rin’s babble about having the same sweetness in her mouth as Daisuke’s was actually a pretty good line. I’m still rooting for Kyoko and her wish for a normal relationship though. The boob talk and misunderstanding was priceless.

So the only thing that is really killing me about this show right now is still the ridiculous censoring. I understand the nudity that I don’t care for the first place, but they have just been blocking random fanservice as well. When they block out entire scenes and sentences, it makes it really hard to enjoy the episode. I can’t even tell what they are talking about at times, besides what I get from the obvious implications. Anyways, this show is just on low priority for now, but I’ll probably be keeping up with it. I am interested in Daisuke’s meeting with Reiji next week, and the anime might pass the point I’ve read up to in the manga soon.

PS: Oh, and someone tell me the name of that other male teacher that Daisuke is always talking to. I keep forgetting his name and I couldn’t be bothered to look it up again.

Yes, the censoring was just ridiculous… including the “recycling bit” :3
    “Ero-friendly!”

And no, what is this “lucky star”? I know it is a mecha! Milfeulle Sakuraba pilots it.

It’s Nakamura-sensei. Cheating from the japanese wiki because his name is deep within the manga and only spoken of once or twice.

Japanese society is becoming more westernised, adopting the values of westerners. I seriously think that the OVA had LESS objectional material than the series given the amount of censorship. This episode has the most so far. Count the number of paedobears in the first five minutes. It’s a shame of the censoring because the show is actually quite good in terms of production and adoption of the manga material. Kuro’s outfits in particular. Kuro’s dress in the manga was white. They made her a red gosurori :3 Like…

    Shinku.

I suspect Ichigo Mashimaro had equivalent objectional content but I’ve never watched/read it so…

And yes, I AM waiting for the dvds… might even buy them after having a preview first. And no, not intending to get the randosel.

“Oh, and someone tell me the name of that other male teacher that Daisuke is always talking to.”

That would be Oyajima-sensei. Might be in love with Shirai-sensei (female teacher, dark hair with glasses)

Di Gi Kazune > I was thinking the same thing. I didn’t think Japan was as uptight about lolis as Westerners were, but my thoughts changed after watching KnJ. I haven’t watched Ichigo Mashimaro yet either, but I don’t think it’s quite as bad. A lot of people are waiting for the dvds…I’d definitely say that they’ll probably be a lot more enjoyable.

Nemo_N > Thanks for both of the names. I swear they never mention them even when we see the characters all the time.

I believe the mail was: “CUTE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLGIRL” that was censored out for no reason.
    /me digs the manga out…

I wouldn’t be surprised. They censored ANYTHING remotely objectional. There were parts in the manga that I remembered that weren’t even that bad that they blocked out in this episode.

I find the censorship remotely objectional! I DEMAND they censor the censorship!

At this point I’m wishing for that yellow tape censoring again. Or atleast the Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei censoring, no matter how creepy that’d be on cute little lolis.

Di Gi Kazune > lol how would they be able to censor the already FULL SCREEN censoring!? This is definitely offending.

Fang-tan > Wow, that just put some really strange images in my head xD. I dunno….I guess they find that small censoring isn’t even enough. They want to censor everythiiiinggggg
