Shakugan no Shana 2 – 06
Yuuji: “Dude, why is Shana so mad at me?” Ike: “Man, you moron.”
Summary:
Yuuji meets Matake and Konoe in the morning, but being reminded of Hayato’s advice, he tries to distance himself from them. Matake denies his leave, and Konoe grabs onto his shirt as usual. Kazumi and Shana are as quiet as ever when they reach school, confusing Yuuji. When the teacher brings up a sudden test, Matake requests study help from Hayato. The other boys get involved too, as they plan to meet at Keisaku’s house. This forces Yuuji to invite Shana and Kazumi who are on the rooftop, but Shana is displeased to find that “everyone” includes Konoe. Wilhelmina knows that there is something wrong with Shana when she arrives home, suggesting that it is because of Yuuji. Wilhelmina reveals that Yuuji had stopped by earlier to invite Shana to the meeting, and Alastor believes that Shana should stop the way she is acting. However, Shana does not know what she should do.
Margery will not wake up in Keisaku’s house, so they just leave her there when the rest of the group arrives. The group is amazed by the things Keisaku’s house has when they settle, as Kazumi prepares to cook in the kitchen. After the group studies in small groups for awhile, they all enjoy Kazumi’s wonderful cooking. During the entire session, Shana is bothered by Yuuji’s closeness to Konoe. Matake reminisces with Kazume while washing dishes afterwards, until a hung over Margery enters. Konoe almost leaves the study room with Yuuji, but Shana drags her out to prevent Yuuji from being with her. Shana finds that Kazumi and Matake are not in the kitchen, but Konoe insists on helping with the dishes. Shana tries to teach the hopeless Konoe how to do so, but she doesn’t do that well herself. Matake wonders who Margery is and what she is doing in the house, as she is concerned about her relationship with Eita. Finding that Margery has no love interests with either Eita or Keisaku, Matake soon apologizes. In return, Margery gives both Matake an Kazumi advice on love.
With only the boys left in the study room, Keisaku wonders how much longer their time would stay like this. Their thoughts are interrupted when they hear girls’ screams, but they find that Shana and Konoe are just having problems with the dish washer. Konoe only laughs in joy as this is the first time she has done something like this, causing the rest of the group to laugh as well. The group does their best on the test the next day at school, but Shana and Kazumi are missing afterwards. On the rooftop, Kazumi gives the advice she learned from Margery to Shana. Shana wonders why Kazumi would tell her this, so Kazumi explains her belief that it wouldn’t be fair if Shana didn’t have the same opportunity. Kazumi then invites Shana down to lunch, so Shana runs to Kazumi with a smile on her face. Shana finally returns to train with Yuuji in place of Wilhelmina later, pleasing Yuuji. Shana wishes to test her relationship with Yuuji, as she prepares her sword.
Preview: Shana loses to a loli.
Impression:
Awwww, how touching………Wait, this isn’t a freaking romance anime!!! How long is this going to go on, for real? Why is even Margery getting involved in this madness? I thought this was all supposed to be settled in the first season. Does Shana really need to be in an exploding building to confess to Yuuji? Give me a break! I can’t stop laughing when Alastor gives the serious briefings at the beginning of the episodes, and the rooftop scenes are becoming so cheesy that I could make macaroni. Sure, I laughed at how much Shana fails at washing dishes, but where exactly is this all going? This was good fun for awhile, but I don’t want to sit through half a season of this ridiculousness. Where’s my fighting!? Maybe the next episode will be more entertaining to make fun of, with the group visiting an amusement park for no apparent reason. Ha, and I thought there were no love comedies this season.

Aunt Margery’s Column for LOVE~!
/me moves back in.
Commentary for today will include (besides the first line above):
Shana should still castrate Yuji.
Yes, the romance anime bit is going to far. Then again I blame some crap from some unnamed studio for inducing all this nauseating high school life romantic etc2. This is Shakugan no Shana, not (bleep)nad. There is a limit where I can tolerate it…
Margery gets character development. Good. It shows she has motherly instincts. Then again so does the meido that cannot cook. I actually want more focus, in order of priority: Flame Hazes, Sydonnay, Friagne (oh wait, that was in the movie), the rest of Bal-Masque, Chigusa, the rest of the Denizens, and in distant last, the rest of the school. If I want highschool life, I will rather die watching some crap from an unnamed production house.
Next week, Darth Shana, yes… give in to your feelings! Strike me down and you journey to the Dark Side will be complete!
Haha Digi ran away here because I dropped this poop show XD
You should actually blog touka gettan.
Di Gi Kazune > wait, are you talking to me or Hinano, because I blogged Touka Gettan a long time ago :3 lol…..the light saber Shana is going to be amazing….I think I am going to laugh a lot more at her challenging lolis though.
Hinano > omg I know…what are you doing to me! xD Walls of text incoming!!!
Introducing Darth Ike
Yuuji has an influx of power of existence in his head. Hence, he is blocking out perfectly logical thoughts and this renders him immune to how others feel about him.
Neither do I comprehend how the producers can actually fit in so much romance in an action-based anime. As if we don’t have enough harem shows this season.
This is exactly why I quit the first season. Take the ‘Louise + Saito =
I accidentally deleted my last post (silly blond moment I think). Basically, nobody wants romantic misunderstandings and love triangles in their Shana. Nooo…I double posted!
D:
Goku > “Yuuji…….I AM YO DADDY!!!” Also, lend me your power for a spirit bomb! Have I ever told you guys about that one time I was playing DBZ for the wii with my friend, and the spirit bomb missed? It was messed up man, the stage blew up and everything but they guy was still standing!
Yyi > Your theories are very logical. I don’t know what JCStaff is thinking this time around. Yea, there are moe fanboys for the girls, but this is nothing close to what the show is suppose to be about!
Fang-tan > Nuuuuuuuuuu double posts!!! ;_; Yea, this is basically Louise and Saito all over again in a different setting….sigh.
What the hell. Six episodes and we ain’t got any decent fight yet. The first season was OK, but they make this one even worse. I will force myself to watch about 3 more episodes otherwise I’ll drop this series from my watching lists.
At this rate, I may watch Shugo Chara instead of this lol. (at least, I enjoy that series more that Shanna II crap).
I’m my own worst enemy! Atleast Saito was a little commited to her. Yuji doesn’t really seem it all that much.
The dishwasher scene was giving me Ninomiya vibes. Without the fanservice. Yuji now just seems like the type who wants to help any girl who currently needs it (what is this Bleach?). At least he isn’t a ばばばか犬!へんたい犬! like Saito was though.
I want to see some major Yuji power development if anything. And maybe some Yuji X Shana action on the side.
My fanservice is all stored on ninomiya. Shana is for the serious melodrama. However, the current melodrama is insufficent! I still vote CASTRATION for yuuji.
And Totali, it’s to hinano, I know you blogged Trappu Getter already. Touka-chan is cute~~
Tsukaima I was okay. Tsukaima II was terrible. I think it is because they ran out of material. Like Shana, the novels are more serious in nature. They can’t actually animate more because there isn’t very much future reference material to base things on. People are expecting 2 x 24 episodes from 16 novels of material. There is going to be fillers. The movie itself covered 2 novels if I remember correctly which was about 6 episodes of Season 1. So if you roughly extrapolate, you’re going to end up on episode 24 this season with an open storyline which will piss people off and if you try to close it, you’ll still piss people off.
IMHO, Japan has run out of material to animate. Animating shows that are currently running eventually will run into the out of source to animate problem. Then you have fillers. Actually the problem is more serious… any attempt to animate H games without the H is considered out of material to work with.
Hey hey I rather liked the Fate/Stay Night and Utawarerumono adaptations. Shingetsutan Tsukihime wasn’t terrible either (although I’m pissed about Nero). And I do believe Clannad was an H game without the H, since Key’s previous games were H, and pissed fans off that they couldn’t get in the girls’ pants.
The Prism Ark anime is more like a loose adaptation than real storyline… It is only meant to promote awareness of the existence of their game, and it worked. It got me playing it. And not watching it XD
Haruhi Haruhi, where art thou season 2 Haruhi? I also wouldn’t mind another season of Full Metal Panic. Plenty of material there in the light novels. Is it just me or do light novels make better anime?
kenshin514 > I think this is seriously going to go on for half a season……..anyways, you should be watching Shugo Chara regardless. COOL AND SPICY!!!
Fang-tan > Louise was a violent controlling tsuntsun…….Shana is a hesitant tsuntsun…..it doesn’t work the same!
Zakarum > If Louise chained up Yuuji like a dog, that would be HILARIOUS. I would love to see more FMP….it’s probably my favorite mecha anime ever (love power etc)…Haruhi 2 is obviously coming….but eh, I’m not a Haruhist.
Di Gi Kazune > It’s a trap~~!!! Oh, heck yea, ZnT2 was so bad…..I guess running out of material and still giving anime fans “what they want” sooner results in this kind of horrible madness…..
LOL
Ahem… The most stupid part of fate/stay night wasn’t because they didn’t choose heaven’s feel or unlimited blade works but because of…
The dragon scene.
THE DRAGON SCENE.
IT’S SUPPOSED TO THE THE DAMN FUCKING FUCKING SCENE BETWEEN SHIROU AND SABER!!! (I wouldn’t mind if Rin got into a threesome)
And Caster needs more screen time. Tsukihime needed more Kohaku/Hisui. The scriptwriting wasn’t good.
The best screen adaptation of a H-game was Shuffle! They went through all 5 character scenarios and managed to tie it up neatly. Utawarerumono comes a close second. Waitaminute… I recant. I forgot about the best adaptations from a H-game studio.
(drumroll)
(more drumroll)
Orbit
Name the two series and the H-OVA and you can consider yourself to be a true purveyor of good H-series adapted shows.
And I pray haruzi s2 will suck worse than louise and her dog saito.
PS your kindacapcha doesn’t work
I know Orbit Soft wrote Moonlight Lady and Touka Gettan… I haven’t really looked into their stuff though.
Yes I know the dragon scene in FSN was terrible, but it kinda made up for it with the Archer battle. And I gotta say the soundtrack for FSN was one of the best I’ve ever heard. Very well produced. I don’t mind the removal of H materials though, because the H scenes almost felt out of place after playing half the story with nothing, then suddenly SEX.
Although I enjoyed Haruhi, I would not go so far as to say I’m a Haruhist… those people honestly freak me out. The show was fun but not on the level of godliness. And all those Hare Hare Yukai dance videos on YouTube? Taking it too far…
LOVE POWER! FMP is probably my second favorite series of all time. The Sosuke and Kaname pair is just too cute, and so is Tessa… Fumoffu was hilarious and they even seemed to throw in some female fanservice in the hotsprings episode. I would pay very large sums of money for FMP season 3 and a Fumoffu 2.
Oh yeah, and I agree, Shuffle! was really well done. The first half was light fluffy harem love. The second half got more serious, up to the climactic ending. I kinda want to get a hold of the game to see more…
I don’t care if people like Hahiru or what not, but smacking it around like the best thing since sliced bread like a Harutard takes the cake. The #1 series I would recommend people to watch would probably melt the brains of the majority. #2 is Juuni Kokki. Fuushi Yugi minus all the romantic fluff.
And you mean GARcher. >_>
And you missed the other game turned anime.
Totali: For someone like myself who isn’t into Mahou Shoujo stuff that much, I actually watched up to 5th episodes so for in Shugo Chara. How is that, Totali?
Also, come on, man. I was the first one who noticed the purple hair twin sister thing. You should give me some more credit dude. lol . So far, the cadidates are Kyou and Ryou (Clannad), Kagami and Tsukasa (Lucky Star), Ginta and Subaru (Nanoha SrikerS), Kei and Chihiro (ef tale of memories). I vote have to go to Kyou/Ryou twin just because Kyou is my favorite character at the moment. What is your, Totali?
KISS KISS KOISHITERU YO
Oh. Wrong anime. Wait, why is this a love comedy again?
This is so awesome. So much romance angst in an anime that’s supposedly action and adventure … LOL
Di Gi Kazune > I’m sowie about the spam filter….I didn’t even know there was a capcha……I did find all your posts in my moderation que though x)……I also loved Shuffle. It is one of the only bishoujo adaptions that I can actually stand…..I thank Kaede and her razor.
Zakarum > Wooo Touka Gettan! The show I love that nobody else knows exists! wooo…….. ;_; Man, I cannot wait for more FMP. And yea, Haruhists
make me sickscare me a bit.kenshin514 > That’s cause Shugo Chara isn’t just mahou shoujo! It’s about Amu finding her HONTOU NO JIBUN!!!! WOOOO!! lol, I don’t usually refer to specific commenters when I mention what has been said in the comments of my posts. I assume that people will look to see who said what :S. Hmm….my favorite out of that list? Probably the Clannad sisters. I would say ef, but I only like one of the sisters.
Michael > wut? but my poll is saying that most people see SnS as a love comedy. SnS isn’t a love comedy!?!?!?!?
You mean Amu wants to find… her W4NG?!?!?!
SnS is pretty boring as a love comedy, but last season really ramped it up towards the end. There’s a lot of plot and time left, so I guess this is supposed to make us care about Yuuji’s normal friends.
Or it is just to seed material for the next Shana-tan omake.
I finally watched the episode. It was SO DAMN LOL. I had to stifle my laughter because it was more of a cheesefest than kimikiss. Now something has got to be wrong. I mean, OMG.
Di Gi Kazune > Chi-gaaauuuuuuu~~!!!!
Kabitzin > Yea I’m holding out for the second half…until then, it’s fun to make fun of how dumb the episodes are. >.>
Michael > Why stifle the laughter? Just let out a lot of lol’s at how bad it is xD.
I’ve never really enjoyed watching this anime ‘cos Shana used to be cool, but then all of a sudden she had a personality change after meeting Yuuji. The same thing happened in Black Cat – Train used to be so cool~! Ah wells, this anime plot line ain’t that great to begin with and there shouldn’t even be a second season. I don’t know why the creators bother dragging it on. The plot isn’t THAT thick.
