Shakugan no Shana 2 – 07

Freaking lolis….always messing up my plans.

Summary:

Ike plans an upcoming amusement park trip for his group of friends, right down to the weather. Setting his objective to time alone with Kazumi, he hopes that everything will go well. Everyone in the group meets at the amusement park on time, including Shana who had a bit of help from Wilhelmina. As this is the first time Konoe has visited a place like this, Matake declares that they must make the time fun for her. Ike implies that his intentions are just that, revealing tickets in an expected manner. After entering the park, the group asks Ike what they should ride first. He begins to suggest something after guessing that a main attraction would be too surprising for Konoe, but the person in question has already found something that she would like to do. Ike allows Konoe to participate in the children’s ride, but everyone else is forced to do so as well. When they see that Konoe wants to ride another childish ride afterwards, Eita and Keisaku quickly separate from the group along with Shana and Matake. When this group asks if Shana has anything she would like to ride, they are shocked to find that she would like to try the bungie jump.

Meanwhile, Ike’s plans are foiled when he finds that all the shops he wanted to take the girls to are closed. Ike makes a quick change of plans by attending the roller coaster that Konoe wishes to ride, but he panics again after finding how long the line is. Yuuji suggests that they give up, but Ike declares that he will save everyone’s spot while they have fun elsewhere. Although he was able to say something so pridefully, Ike wonders what everyone else is doing in his lonesome. Kazumi appears to keep him company in his moment of regret, however, putting him in a state of joy. When Kazumi asks if there any rides that Ike is interested in, he suggests the ferris wheel. Kazumi agrees to ride it with Ike after the roller coaster ride, further increasing his happiness. In other places, the other group is surprised at how calm Shana is about rides. When Kazumi goes to call the rest of the group back, Ike suddenly remembers his disastrous fear of roller coasters. The group is unable to return to Ike in time, forcing him to ride the coaster alone. Ike is left alone in a weak state soon after meeting with the group afterwards, as they take the chance to ride the now vacant roller coaster.

Shana impresses Matake when she easily makes the top score in a light saber game, and she is rewarded by a friendly lion in response. Alastor warns Shana about using her abilities so easily, but Eita and Keisaku suggest that it is ok. Matake enthusiastically tells the rest of her friends about Shana’s actions when the two groups meet back up for lunch, but Ike is not feeling as good. When Kazumi brings Ike cookies, his enthusiasm is soon revived. In response, he presents a challenge to the group in the form of entering a maze in pairs. Ike declares to Kazumi that they will win, making her wonder if he is that desperate for the promised ice cream. Matake and Eita have trouble with the maze elsewhere, and Keisaku asks Shana a question about Flame Hazes. Finding that they are having trouble in the maze, a bird leads Yuuji and Konoe in the right direction. Kazumi is amazed at how well Ike is doing in the maze, as he declares that he cannot be lost. When he can see the exit to the maze, he brings up the promise he made with Kazume about the ferris wheel. Ike finally has the chance to ride alone with Kazumi, but his weak stomach kills his perfect plan. When Konoe thanks Ike at the end of the day, his spirits are again brought back at the simple sight of Kazumi’s smile.

Preview: Margery centric episode.

Impression:

“Jet coaster”? In America we call those…..forget it. Ok, this episode was awesome. I was so ready to make fun of Shana losing to a loli this week, but that ended up not being the main attraction. This episode practically had the same vibes as a Shana-tan omake, especially with all the extra hilarious eye catches. Ike is such a dork! I was laughing at how much he planned out to get close to Kazumi, especially since I don’t remember him ever being that kind of character. When he mentioned his planned scenarios, I couldn’t help but be reminded of Initial D. Too bad all his plans were foiled by that freaking loli Hecate. I honestly hoped that they wouldn’t kill the ferris wheel scene at the end, but they totally did (as expected). I kind of feel sorry for the guy, especially since Kazumi needs to get the heck out of Yuuji’s harem. Oh well, megane represent! Other awesome parts of this episode consisted of Shana licking ice cream, and her owning of the light saber game (I’ll leave the trademark lion joke to Shirukii). I almost forgot that Eita and Keisaku knew about Alastor and Flame Hazes for a second there. We might be making a transition into the actual story next week, with an episode centered around Margery. I’m not gonna keep my hopes up though. Shana, you loli you…

“We might be making a transition into the actual story next week, with an episode centered around Margery.”

YEAH RIGHT! Heck they are just initiating Margery into Yuujis Harem by adding a younger man into her past who Yuuji just happens to be EXTREMELY familiar to and then Margery will blush and make a remark like “Dont get cocky” or “Forget it” which will be totally out of character for her and will make me cry…

I would really like to know WhatTheF#ck is Hecate doing, its been painfully obvious from when she first arrived at the school that the bracelet is the thing thats making her appear human, WHY DOESENT SHANA JUST KILL HER IN THE DOME AND IF SHES HUMAN REZ HER WITH YUUJIS “Man Spirit”…. This show is just plain out awful!
