Maybe the censoring of the stair-pushing scene helped provide viewers unfamiliar with the manga with a red herring? Unless the creators of the anime have started to take severe liberties with the story starting with this episode in order to wrap this show up within the next four installments with a completely original ending , I think there’s a bit of intentional misdirection going on here. Anyone who’s read the manga this episode is based on will know what I mean.

What killed me the most was that they censored Rin’s pushing Kyoko down the stairs. I still got the impacting effect, but WHY would you interrupt such an important scene?

Because the ten-and-under crowd that are still watching the teevee at 1:30 at night have never thought that pushing people down the staircase would actually kill, so we must protect them from that knowledge

Dammit, Kazune, don’t spoil it but yeah, Reiji is also wearing thin on my sympathy. I know they both lost someone they loved, but that’s a poor excuse not to keep her on a short chain.

But yeah, all they were doing was sucking on those sacs of iced egg cream or whatever the hell they are. I might understand if they censor the dialogue, but camman, the broadcasters should grow some balls, especially at insane-o-clock at night when this thing aired.

But still it’s nice to see Rin feeling at least some repercussions for her actions. It’s not a one-way trip to a convent, but it’s a start.
