Now that I've seen the episode, I can honestly say that it blew me away. Of course, that's because I've played the game, and can recognize various references to characters and events of Persona 3 from the get-go. Akihiko working with Ryo? Definitely awesome, though I do miss the Evokers. Igor telling Shun that they met before in the Velvet Room, same with Minato? Consider me sold on this one.

Are they somehow trying to link Shun with Arisato Minato? And are those Fuuka and Junpei shown in the next episode trailer? With the resurgence of Apathy Syndrome...does that mean that the Personas of people are degenerating into Shadows thanks to the Nyx incident? The pills that the man was taking, are those the same pills that Strega members were taking? Maybe I'll get to find out the answers to these questions...or maybe these questions aren't even in the anime in the first place.

Nevertheless, I'm hooked.

I wasn't impressed. Unless somebody tells me something gnarly happens, I don't think I'll watch this one.

now i've watched the sub: that bit towards the end with Jun is properly creepy.

from the preview it looks like the next episode is a school-based one - i'm interested to see if they keep the dating sim elements of the game.

my only minor complaint is that it's quite hard to see what's going on in the persona fights, what with them being semi-transparent and all.

panda: I've been hearing so much about that, lol. I'm not surprised at all that they would take something like that out, but I would have really liked to see the people shooting themselves in the face xDD

kitsune: It's actually a Saturday show, but I just blogged it on Sunday because of the ridiculous flood of shows on Saturday :S

Di Gi Kazune: lol I finally put two and two together and figured out your references to that seiyu...I'm slow ;D. I might have to pick up Di Gi Charat soon....is it ok if I just watch panyo panyo? That's all I have atm, and the older stuff looks way too old school for my tastes. I watched Winter Garden recently too...it was funny. ;P

eipu: I was definitely surprised. I think this show will get good sub treatment because of its already established popularity, so you probably don't need to worry.

Hemisphere: Hey, it's japan. They cancel shows like Higurashi and School Days when a real tragedy happens, but they let mahou shoujo lolis run wild.

Rentington: Heh, I'm not nearly as active of a gamer as I used to be. I think WoW killed too much of my want to. Like I implied, I still enjoy games like DMC that are just easy to pick up and play though. Heh, I know what you mean about the atmosphere of this show. I actually have a soft spot for those types of shows.

I loved the game... until it ran out of creative steam by November, then I got bored with it. But, to be fair, that was about 60 hours in. It's the most addictive game ever when you first get it. Takes your soul. It's kinda like "O-kami" on PS2. Awesome, but doesn't reward you much as you go on.

Anyway, will look forward to this one. I liked the tone of the game, which is like a lot of post-evangelion Japanese cartoons, where they do crazy messed up things at night, and go to school and have drama and problems there like nothing ever happened. So they took out the evokers? That's lame. I always thought the guns were totally Donnie Trumps. But, what can you do?

Apparently, the use of Evokers was a bit too "controversial" to be shown in TV, so they did away with it. Which is just...an odd decision to make, considering that you can have blatant tits and asses fanservice as well as gore, but not suicidal implications?
