Bamboo Blade – 14
2D > 3D
Summary:
A fellow club member of Remi’s wonders why she has only taken pictures of Miyako at the match she attended. She tells him that there was no meaning in taking pictures of anything else, before continuing to work on her Miya Miya stand up. The boy jokingly suggests that Remi introduce Miyako to him, making her extremely angry. Satori attempts to convince Kirino and Sayako that she does not intend on joining the kendo club, but they easily see that she is interested when she attempts to walk away. Yoshikawa-sensei finds Ishida failing at a video game in the teachers office, so she shows him how it’s done. Yoshikawa suggests that they have a match later, but they are interrupted by another teacher who lets Kirino and Sayako in. The two girls present a list suggesting various nicknames for Satori, but Ishida again tells them that she cannot join. The two girls express Satori’s love of kendo, but Ishida still doesn’t believe it is possible. This sends the two girls running out in tears, which Miyako sees from inside the school.
Danjuro invites Miyako to club when class is over, but she tells him that she will be busy with cleaning duty. This isn’t true, of course, as she goes to visit Satori who is cleaning by herself in another classroom. As the other students have put off their duties, Miyako offers to help Satori in return for her help at club earlier. When Satori again reveals her liking of kendo, Miyako quickly gets to the point by demanding for her to join the club. Satori tells her that she is busy studying so that she can go to University, but Miyako makes her realize that not joining a club is not helping her at all. Miyako plays with Satori even more, showing that her own test scores have gotten better after joining the kendo club. Miyako deals the final blow by revealing the rest of the benefits of joining the kendo club, easily catching her prey. With this, Satori signs up for the kendo club to the happiness of all the members. Ishida meets Kenzaburo with news of his now complete team later, but the various needs to prepare for a national tournament are brought up.
Looking back at how much the kendo club has progressed from the time it was just himself and Kirino, Ishida decides to kick it into high gear and express his hopes to all of the kendo members. Satori enters the room shortly afterwards, revealing that she has convinced her parents to let her join and that Yoshikawa-sensei had helped her. Ishida also has Kirino and Danjuro help Satori with her studies. He then excites the girls when he further reveals that they will be having a training camp, but Kirino and Satori are quickly disappointed to find that it is just taking place in their usual club room. As a consolation, Ishida reveals that Kenzaburo’s kendo girls will be coming over to help them practice. Yuji tells Tamaki that he had gone to a training camp in middle school while riding home with her, before seeing her off as usual. Tamaki tells her father about the upcoming training camp, but he worries a bit when she mentions that Nakata Yuji will be there with her. Before Tamaki heads to her room, her father tells her to give everyone his regards. Tamaki starts to go to sleep, but not before running out to get a TV schedule. She expresses her gladness that she will not be missing one of her series, before going to sleep with thoughts of the upcoming training camp.

Haha, wow. It was only like a week of absence, but I really missed Bamboo Blade. This episode was really funny, and had quite a few developments. Kirino and Sayako’s antics were as hilarious as ever, especially with their nicknames for Satori. Miyako was just awesome, using her devilish powers to easily make Satori officially join the kendo club. It was so funny seeing representations of the catching of her prey. Meanwhile, her fangirl Reimi somehow got a full sized stand up of her! Yoshikawa-sensei got more screen time than ever in this episode, making me believe that she will become a regular part of the cast. Hey, who doesn’t want more sensei service? They inserted some recap in this episode through Ishida’s thoughts, but it was actually quite enjoyable. It definitely wasn’t a Gundam recap, if you know what I mean. This episode also made me believe that an animation from manga adaption could make a series a lot more enjoyable. For example, Tamaki’s chewing noises were absolutely hilarious at the end of the episode. I haven’t read any of the manga, but I don’t think they could have had the same effect with text. It looks like we’ll be seeing the return of Kenzaburo’s team next week, as I suspected we eventually would.

As much as I like the other girls, Tama-chan is pure love to me… her mannerisms and skills have won me over.
oo I really can’t wait for the subs for this episode!! I love Tamaki too, she’s just so awesome! I wonder why Yuuji left the Kawazoe kendo club in the first place
Good job, Miya Miya! LOL at the snake vs frog image. Just saw Kill Bill Vol.2 so was thinking of the image of Beatrice being toyed with by Pai Mei.
Haha… I like how the scene begins with Satori being sentimental about joining Kendo club when Miyako wastes no time switching to intimidating Satori. The contrast like this is how comedies are made.
Someone tell Ishida to go ahead and just marry Yoshikawa-sensei then together they can afford stuff like food…. She obviously likes him…the lucky SOB.
Go Miya-Miya and her power to convince people! xD
Hmmm, I wonder why Tama-chan’s dad got a bit worried when he learned Yuji will be at the camp with her. Yuji might have some sort of secret himself. I think I can feel some backstory coming… either that or I feel my boss coming to tell me off for reading summaries instead of working? Heh, I should go *switches windows*. ;P
Voodoomage: Miya Miya is still my favorite, but it’s impossible to dislike any of the girls in this show. LOL Yoshikawa-sensei was so awesome in this episode.
ShadowFang: It amazes me how I can burst out laughing just from the way Tamaki says something or chews. The wonders of visual humor.
Zyl: HAHA what a movie to see before coming into Bamboo Blade XDD
Falen: The Miya Miya scene with Satori made the episode for me. That was way too awesome.
hazy: LOL get back to work XD!! But yea, I’m sure there’s more than enough potential for back story to be showing up now.
[...] hungry for tonkatsu now… Like Totali, I found Tama-chan’s mogu mogu so cute. And she’s so well-mannered too! Never talk with [...]
Yuji does seem to know an awful lot about Tama-chan. He seems quite close to her…
haha i loved the snake representaion of miya-chan just funny.
wow Reimi getting so kuwai was too scary XD
btw whats the problem about tama chans’s dad worrying about yuji-kun?
i missed this show so much, it was nice watching it
I wouldn’t be surprised if we got some sort of story for Yuuji soon. Especially with his kendo skills and close relationship with Tamaki.
hey that be great if there would be one.
besides, i’ve been rooting for tama and Yuji to get together =D
