Subculture Anime Blog

So what are you blogging anyways? Winter ‘08

Most bloggers like to put up a season preview and pick up what they’re interested in, but I just like to check out everything and drop accordingly. I think that leaves you guys guessing at what I’m actually planning on blogging, so here you go.

Current Schedule:

Monday: Bamboo Blade, Aria the Origination
Thursday: Shakugan no Shana 2, Clannad
Saturday: Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Kimikiss pure rouge
Sunday: Minami-ke Okawari

This is straight from my schedules page. The schedule actually does nothing but tell you what I’m blogging though. Classes start back up for me on Monday, so you can start expecting the inconsistent weekly schedule that I’ve kept up in this past season. Right now, I’ve basically got the four shows carrying over from last season and the three shows I pretty much guaranteed to blog before the season started.

Iffy:

Honey and Clover (live action): I actually really enjoyed talking about the first episode, even though I’m not usually one to talk about dramas. Honey and Clover was my favorite anime, so I might enjoy blogging this one on my own time. It looks like Garten may have more consistent reviews in the meantime.

Shigofumi: This was one of the best and most (not)surprising shows that aired on Saturday. Like I said earlier, I’ll be picking this up if Tenka Seiha and Random Curiosity both fail me. Or, even if they do pick this up, this show deserves all the love it can get.

Rosario Vampire: So I originally planned on picking this up, but it’s a lot less likely now that I’ve seen all the other stuff that’s come out this season. I will still be watching it, but I have just been feeling like trying to write about shows like this has been taking away any enjoyment I have remaining for them. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of coverage for this show elsewhere…like at Kita ze Inbou.

My condolences:

H20 ~Footprints in the Sand~: Oh, come on. The only reason I even checked this out was to make fun of it. I’ll probably be watching this just so that I can see how much funnier Hinano makes it.

Hatenko Yugi: This show surprised me, and is a probable watch for later. Our favorite shoujo Impz can give you coverage on this one.

Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de: Yea, this is something that would usually make my list. I feel like I could enjoy it more in a marathon though, especially with all the better stuff that’s come out this season on Saturday. Hinano’s “picking it up for sure 8D” though.

Persona -trinity soul-: This was really cool, but had almost no chance of being on my actual schedule in the first place. This was already hyped a lot before the season started, and there should be plenty of coverage by the already established fans around the blogsphere.

True Tears: This one surprised me. It definitely has potential, and the production values were excellent. Not something I would blog though, especially with the overload on Saturdays (I didn’t even do a proper series introduction).

Spice and Wolf: I see the potential in this show, but the first episode did not impress me that much. It’s no where close to being a show I would cover, and it’s already getting a lot of hype elsewhere.

Gunslinger Girls -II Teatrino-: Ok, so I haven’t watched the first season yet. Yea, I’m a noob.

    Victory is mine.

We are so going to have to RPS over Shigofumi though. Or something.

Totali: What??? You have three days off for blogging anime!! I thought you said that you classes were too easy. LOL

I guess I was right what are you going be blogging (Haha, I know you too well, just kidding). Why can’t you push back KimiKiss to Sunday along with Minami-ke Okawari? This way you can blog True Tears (Just in case if other web-site doesn’t blog that series).

It’s kinda sad that most shows im picking up are on saturday. that’s still gonna leave my sundays mondays and wednesdays dead as a doornail

Not blogging Spice and Wolf is a highly questionable decision. Not to worry, though, I will bravely carry the torch in your absence.

That said, I otherwise applaud your choices. I’ll definitely be back every Monday right on the dot to see your Aria + Bamboo Blade action. n_nv

Hmm… Bamboo blades: Worth it? I mean, it’s getting a long season.

  7. Totali January 9th, 2008 8:27 pm

Ryan A: Another season indeed. Choices choices….. xS

    Aroduc: Rock, paper, scissors SHOOT!!!

kenshin514: yea…..but I secretly do other stuff besides watch anime when I’m not in class lol! I also have trouble getting anime on the day it comes out while I’m at the dorms, but that’s a story I’ve already talked about before.

Hinano: Ha! Tell me about it. Saturdays are freaking ridiculous. >_>

Orion: Eh, I’ll watch Spice and Wolf later. I just can’t bring myself to say interesting things about those kinds of shows. …..and you can expect Bamboo Blade and Aria to get delayed big time, so don’t keep your hopes up xS.

Rentington: It’s fun…really funny. It’s kind of like a show like Hayate no Gotoku, except it depends less on gags and more on FRIENDSHIP POWER themes.

Speaking of which… tonight is SHAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How have I missed the cute shana ass for 3 weeks!

And I have picked up exactly zero (also known as nil, null, none, zip, zilch, nadda) shows.

Here’s a list of what I’ll be blogging:

    Spice and Wolf
    Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
    PERSONA -trinity soul-
    Gunslinger Girls -II Teatrino-
    Hatenkou Yuugi
    Shigofumi

I may do ARIA if I fulfill some other duties first. I’m not entirely sure by H2O yet but there is a fascination somewhere within my mind that compels me to want to blog it.

  10. Leon January 9th, 2008 9:46 pm

Oh, I forgot to say I’ll be blogging Rosario + Vampire as well.

Yeah…I know. You don’t have to say anything lol.

  11. Leon January 9th, 2008 10:01 pm

    *sorry for the triple post*

You should pick if Shigofumi if you have the time. I for one would be interested in your thoughts on the series as it seems like it’ll be covering a diverse set of characters.

And like you said, it definitely deserves all the love it can get. :P

  12. Impz January 9th, 2008 11:29 pm

\o/ lol, all the shows I am picking up are on friday and saturday, since those are my days off.

Man, I am struggling on whether to blog Persona more, or let Extrange and the loli to go on with the english subs. =3

  13. Totali January 9th, 2008 11:52 pm

Di Gi Kazune: Actually it airs tomorrow….so you have to wait one more day for that cute ass… :3

Leon: Stop playing with my mind! I’m glad people are willing to take up Rosario + Gonzo….so that I don’t have to. Still thinking about Shigofumi…but it’s probably the most likely out of the three “iffy” shows.

Impz: Someone who obviously has much more work than me to do in school! xD …eh, you and your minions.

  14. Di Gi Kazune January 10th, 2008 12:06 am

    It’s tonight for me. >_>

And I’d like to open a gate to hell on neo-venezia. >_>

  15. Rentington January 10th, 2008 2:32 am

I’d just like to state for the record that Totali was blogging Zetsubou Sensei before it was cool to do so.

  16. Nai January 10th, 2008 2:48 am

If I have a blog, I would’ve blog Gunslinger Girl 2 only to bash it every episode. :(

  17. Di Gi Kazune January 10th, 2008 8:41 am

Fortunately for all of you, I don’t have one. Otherwise every show would be bashed inside out into submission. Thank your deity choice that I’m too lazy to start one.

  18. Totali January 10th, 2008 2:30 pm

Rentington: LOL I love you man…but really, I did.

Nai: I’ve been hearing a lot of bad reviews about that show so far. Heh, I’m still left in the dark though.

Di Gi Kazune: From the stuff I’ve seen in Ex-fan comments, Di Gi says more than enough for blog material XD. I’d probably know what to expect too. BTW I finally got the first Di Gi Charat…..so I might be able to watch it sometime soon.

  19. Di Gi Kazune January 11th, 2008 4:16 am

/me has all the original DVDs :3
The 16 shorts, all the specials and the movie. :3
