Sliding KATTO!

Summary:

Kouichi’s mother expresses her surprise that Mao will not be seeing her parents this summer, before noticing that Kouichi is late coming down for breakfast. Kouichi looks through magazines in preparation for a date with Yumi, but despairs when he finds that he does not have enough money. Mao enters Kouichi’s room, expecting to wake him up, but is surprised to finally learn that Yumi will be transferring. Mao is happy that Kouichi plans on getting a job in order to be closer to Yumi, but she reminds him that it is more important to spend time with Yumi now. With this, Mao suggests that Kouichi and Yumi go to the beach. Asuka shouts out advice to Kazuki while she watches him at a soccer game, but he still fails to prevent an opposing goal. After she brings this up to him afterwards, the coach begins announcing positions.

Mao sees Eiji at his workplace, so he takes the chance to present her with tickets to an upcoming show. Mao wonders if one of his acquaintances will be playing, but she becomes amazed to find that Eiji is going to be performing. While walking home with Asuka, Kazuki again apologizes to her. Even though she will be unable to play in the game she wanted to, she remains surprisingly positive. Eriko gets a call from her parents at home, before calling Kazuki right afterwards. She asks a surprised Kazuki if he would like to have another experiment the next day, but he tells her that he will be playing soccer. Eriko wonders if this is even more important than her experiment, so Kazuki tells her that he wants to change. Eriko tells Kazuki that they will do the experiment another time, before quickly hanging up.

As the soccer game progresses the next day, Kazuki gets himself ready. When a player gets taken out, Kazuki is sent in as a replacement. Eriko arrives at the school to see Kazuki in action, as well as Asuka watching him eagerly on the sidelines. Kazuki is praised for his work after the game, and Eriko walks away after seeing how well he gets along with Asuka. Eriko thinks about calling Kazuki on the way home, but she decides not to. Kouichi gets a call from Yumi, calling because she is free. Kouichi then learns that Mao will be going to a concert with Eiji, asking for further advice. When the club meets at the udon shop as usual, Akira reveals that Kouichi and Yumi will be the two who play the lovers. This shocks everyone, but Yumi confirms that she will do it. Kazuki wonders how Kouichi has gotten so far with Yumi as he walks home with Akira, making Akira wonder about his progression with Eriko. Akira reminds Kazuki that Eriko really lives in a different world, telling him to take hold before he loses her. Kazuki makes a call to Eriko in response, but she does not pick up.

Impression:

So Kimikiss is back to making me angry. Haha, I kid. But really, what is Eriko doing!? It looks like she’s finally beginning to understand what jealousy is. Asuka has definitely been growing on me these past few episodes, but Eriko has still been my favorite since the beginning. As far as Kazuki and his soccer playing goes, I was getting Shugo Chara vibes all over the place. Not only was Kazuki going on about his “halfhearted self” and “wanting to change”, but it even had to do with soccer! (I don’t know how many of you realize this, but I’ve been a big Shugo Chara fan since it started, and despite not blogging it, I do follow it on Saturdays as well.) There’s not much to say about Mao and Eiji. They’re moving forward as always. The only thing really new about Kouichi and Yumi is their pairing by Akira which was bound to happen. Those two look like they will have a lot of focus in the next episode too. I’m sure everyone will get past all this silly drama by the end. I also like how the frogs showed up at the very last second just to spite us all. Ah, those freaking frogs…
