I caught it, too. Most of Chiri’s fight choreography was ripped directly from End of EVA. They even highlight this by having Chiri use some German, like “Erste,” which Asuka says after ripping apart an EVA unit. I laughed hard as soon as I caught on to that.

Am I the only one who caught The End of Evangelion reference? The whole Chiri-battle was a reference to the battle with the mass production EVAs xD

It was pretty funny episode. The animation quality was really weird during the first half. But it really didn’t matter much.

Nai: Haha, Aroduc was so fooled by that….haha Aroduc. I didn’t think the 3 part style was that bad…haven’t they done it before? I didn’t think this was bad at all! I haven’t read much of the manga at all though. But yea, this is Shaft. I’m sure we’ll be seeing more experimentation later.

Rentington: Hahaha, yea. Majiru is definitely the most level headed. I’m surprised at how many Chiri fans there are! I’m guessing it’s because she has the most normal “problem” out of the group? I dunno what my favorite ep was from the first season, but I honestly just liked the introductory style with all the characters.
