Chiaki’s ahoge radar requires a lot of meditation to control, huh?

Summary:

As Haruka is out in the morning, Kana has begun searching for things to eat on her own. She believes a forgotten treasure will be found in the cabinets, and she eventually finds a small box. Chiaki seems uninterested, but Kana easily convinces her to help open it. When the girls finally open the box, they find a glass bunny necklace inside. The two girls attempt to remember whose it is, and Kana panics when she remembers that it is Haruka’s. Further more, the item is now broken because of the sisters’ reckless actions. When Kana convinces Chiaki about how Haruka will feel towards her sisters because of this, Chiaki decides to help. When Kana begins working on the item, she damages it even further. Panicking afterwards, Kana quickly calls all of her friends asking for help. Chiaki meanwhile attempts to fix the rabbit. Haruka and Maki meet Fujioka while walking in the city, learning that he is searching for a rabbit. This reminds Haruka of the item she has at home, so she excitedly implies that she will show it to Maki when they get to her house. Anticipating Haruka’s arrival now, Kana calls Fujioka again to hurry him up. Because of bad reception, Fujioka believes that Kana tells him to find eel instead. All of Kana’s other friends are busy searching as well, with less than amazing results.

Haruka finally arrives home to her sisters, but the two despair when she mentions that she is looking for her glass rabbit necklace. The girls quickly begin distracting Haruka from her goal, as Kana learns of Haruka’s intentions for the rabbit. Uchida arrives at the household with good news, but Kana finds that she has brought something completely wrong. Haruka is continually confused by her sisters’ actions, but she agrees to search her room when Chiaki suggests it. Kana starts calling her friends again, but finds that all of them are being incompetent. Haruka eventually makes it to the room the sisters least want her to be, so Kana decides to leave the house. Chiaki is unable to stop Haruka from answering a phone call from Keiko, and she is put in horror when Haruka wonders what Keiko’s talk of rabbit was about. Kana is unable to find a replacement rabbit herself while out in the city. With bruises on her knees and the snow beginning to fall, she decides to finally head home. Inside, however, she finds a crying Chiaki and an enraged Haruka. Many of Kana’s friends arrive, all with their incorrect items. Touma meanwhile continues to run.

Impression:

That’s it. Chiaki has totally won me over. This is bad. I hope I don’t fall into the evils of DFC disease! I’m sorry Kana…I’m sorry!!! Well anyways, this episode was really awesome. The preview from last week totally threw me off though, as Fujioka bad-a samurai actually had very little screen time. The sisters’ hilarious antics were in full force this week, and since that was what drew me into the series in the first place, it was an absolute joy. The various faces the girls put on was great, and I even said “Hi Lelouch” at one point. Even better was the already mentioned Chiaki ahoge radar’s return and Kana’s dancing with Haruka. The sad Kana in the snow scene was actually quite touching, but I knew what was coming by the end. I’m still loving Chiaki’s colorless scenes, but it was used in a different way this time around. Watching all of Kana’s friends doing their best to help was a plus in this episode, and it really represented their various personalities perfectly. Touma’s was probably the most funny for me, but I also feel sorry for poor Uchida. It looks like there will be more development between Chiaki and Fuyuki next week. Even if he’s just been introduced, I feel like this season will be focusing on that quite a bit.
