Kimikiss pure rouge – 19

Ah, it feels like I was just watching this show yesterday…..wait.

Summary:

Nana does her best to wake her brother up, finally succeeding. Kazuki jokingly wonders if he should start living on his own, but Nana states that it is lonely being alone. Of course, this makes Kazuki remember the conversation he had previously with Eriko. When Kouichi wakes up in the morning, he is only able to think about Mao’s confession to him from the previous night. When he runs into Mao shortly afterwards, he does his best to greet her. Mao only confirms that her health is now fine, before walking down ahead of Kouichi. While walking to school with him, Mao tells Kouichi not to worry about what she told him. She states that it wasn’t a lie, however, when Yumi appears behind the two. When Yumi happily greets Kouichi, Mao is unable to help feeling uncomfortable. Yumi has trouble getting her attention, but Mao then takes the chance to take off ahead of the two.

During soccer practice, Asuka notices that Kazuki is actually doing quite well. This makes her put a smile on her face. Mao meets Eiji upon reaching the school, but he only greets her with a “good morning” before leaving. While everyone heads to class, Kazuki tries to find from Mitsuki if Eriko is at school. She states that she did not find her in the infirmary, making Kazuki remember Eriko’s statement about feeling more comfortable with people. Megumi finds that no one is volunteering when she announces jobs to the class, so she picks on Kazuki and Kouichi. This causes Yumi to volunteer next, which the class cheers to. Yumi is happy about this, but she looks back to see that Kouichi is completely out of it.

Tomoko enthusiastically tells her class about the upcoming festival, but no one seems to be as happy about it as she is. Mao is only able to lay her head on her arms, deep in thought. Nana and Narumi become extremely happy to meet two students in their class who wish to help them with their projects. Yumi talks with Kouichi after class, mentioning his spaced out appearance from earlier. Their conversation is interrupted by Akira who rushes Kouichi off, however. As Kouichi leaves her behind, Yumi smiles in relief that Kouichi is not doing as bad as she had thought. Asuka meets with Mao at the entrance of the school, getting into a conversation with her about the recent filming. Asuka wonders about her nervousness towards the kiss scene, but Mao pushes it off as nothing. As Asuka runs off for practice, Mao clenches her fist.

Kazuki meets Eriko in her usual room, expressing that he could not forget about her as he planned to. He states that he really likes her, but this makes Eriko wonder since when. When Kazuki tells her that it suddenly happened, she guesses that the day would come where his feelings may change. Eriko brings up Kazuki’s own statement about an experimental kiss being wrong, which Kazuki is unable to respond to as Eriko leaves out the door. Akira attempts to have their club accepted, but he is denied despite his efforts. While working on a poster with Yumi, Mitsuki expresses how much fun she has had after becoming involved with everyone. Yumi states that she is the same way, as they work throughout the afternoon to finish the poster. Yumi gets a phone call from Kouichi as she observes the finished work, finding that he will not be able to go home with her.

Yumi and Mitsuki run into Nana and Narumi while walking home, who express their happiness and progress in the udon club. When the girls suggest that it would be nice if the school festival would never end, Yumi puts on a disappointing face. With this, Yumi finally reveals to the girls about her soon transferring. She quickly receives support from those around her, making her recall how wonderful her experiences with everyone have been. She credits this to Kouichi, who allowed her to change little by little. During the next filming, Mao and Kouichi are finally set up to do the kiss scene. Both of their real emotions interfere, but the scene becomes more powerful and successful than Akira could have imagined because of this. Mao runs away in tears afterwards, however, and Yumi becomes shocked in realization. Eiji sees Mao as she runs through the city, meeting her to comfort her when he catches up to her.

Preview: Now it’s Eriko’s turn!

Impression:

So like…I love how they have me annoyed throughout the entire episode, but then totally throw something at me in the last two seconds. Seriously. It’s like this every time. Now all my confusion from last week yesterday seems totally worthless. The beginning of this episode reminded me of the first episode of Da Capo with all the “oniichan” and jumping on the bed stuff. Oh, and I should probably mention that I stopped watching Da Capo right after that. Yup…I kind of just turned it off right there. Speaking of bad cliches, Mao was trying to do the “let’s keep going on the way we have been” route, which was super annoying. She really needs to cut it out. I’ve had too much of her in the past few episodes. The ending of the episode suggests that things will be fixed right back to the way we want them though, so I can only keep my fingers crossed and wait.

Kazuki on the other hand is going to have to struggle to get Eriko back. The next episode preview looks like he will be stalking her until she changes her mind. I thought it was pretty funny how they had an Eriko shower scene in this episode for absolutely NO REASON during Yumi’s talk. Great placement, great placement. Asuka tried to trick me with all her blushing again too. She can’t fool me! Yumi’s story might be taking a dramatic turn soon too, since she’s finally realized what’s going on. Add that with her already moving away from everyone, and I think we’ll finally see the story we’ve seen coming for a couple of months now. But yea, I can’t wait for Eriko to say “Talk to the hand” in the next episode. She needs to make up for her lost screen time!

Man when Yumi dropped that script all I could think of was “Nice Boat” and “Yandere kita!”

    *sigh*
Is this show over yet? The only reason I’m still sticking around is because of the constant cliffhangers they give at the end of every episode.

God, there has to have been like a million Kimikiss/School Days parodies already….I don’t browse 4chan or anything though so….yea. =P

Also, heh. I was joking with Aroduc earlier. We pretty much decided that you could marathon this show by watching the last 10 seconds of each episode….because that’s how this show is set up.

Futami’s shower scene may have been an attempt to disguise her tears. If so, they should have done much better job, like where the scene is in the general flow of the story. Kai is too good for Mao.

If they pull off a “TokiMemo: Only Love” on us at the very last episode, I’m gonna kick the bucket. Seriously, the anime basically taut the Kouichi-Yuumi pairing since the VERY BEGINNING. However, unlike Riku-Tsukasa, this one is way stronger.

Just once, JUST THIS ONE TIME, I wish the producers won’t pull off a “and the childhood friends became more than just friends”-ending on us. That’s just too damned cliched in this anime genre.

God, why the fuck doesn’t Kazuki leave Eriko the fuck alone already!? C’mon Asuka!! You’re gonna miss your chance!

The only reason I read this anime blog because I am bored. I stopped watching the show around episode 15. Hate the feeling where the show is going nowhere fast like alot of harem animes.

  8. [...] still a great deal of Mao hate out there. A lot of it stemmed from her supposed callous treatment of Kai and her coming [...]

lol, I like Kazuki’s face when Kouichi says “it doesn’t matter how things got started!”

Good Job Kouichi, you’re just encouraging Kazuki to be a pathetic stalker =P

Wow, during the first half of these series all i could think was flaming this crap and still i will persoanlly flame this if Kouichi ends up with amo which i still think is not gonna happen considering that Kai followed her in the end.

wow did anyone see the big amount of Mitsuki sceentime? lol i just love her so much after that screentime.

Wow Kouichi is starting to feel like a certain douchebag I know. *hint hint*
And really who in their right mind didn’t think of Nice boat when Yumi got that freakin look in her face after that scene.

  11. Totali February 21st, 2008 1:11 am

There we go with the nice boat parallels again! That anime just….argh!

  12. Siva February 21st, 2008 9:21 am

LOL, all you could see from that scene when Yumi dropped that script was “Nice Boat” and “Yandere kita!” ?

Don’t you know the meaning of “dry-tear”?

I am sorry but Kimikiss is not a bully-love-triangle.

I just realized something… Kazuki’s an idiot. He’s been answering all of Eriko’s questions wrong. It’s not that kissing for an experiment is wrong, nor that love can be born from an experiment.

    Love *IS* an experiment!

It’s born out of curiosity… People try to understand one another, from their strengths to their weaknesses… When there’s a problem (between a couple), they try to solve it… and when everything’s all clear, they finally make a long-awaited conclusion: they love each other.

Jeebus cripes… Eriko had the right way of thinking all along, it’s just that her way of doing it was wrong. Good idea, bad execution.

I agree with rufe, you could see Kazuki’s idea light turn on when Kouichi said “it doesn’t matter how things got started!” because what matters is how people really feel for each other. Time to go at Eriko with that logic. Kazuki isn’t a pathetic stalker though; Eriko has never really shut him down like “Get the hell away from me, I never want to see you again… ever!” because she also has feelings for him. She’s just afraid to give in to it because she doesn’t want to be hated and hurt in the end. Better to risk it and enjoy as much as possible than to just sit around alone all the time. Go for it, Kazuki, go!

Heh, it was definitely a pivotal moment when Yuumi stood there looking like “what the hell just happened!” and dropped the script. “Nice boat” in deed. Kouichi will have a tough time talking his way out of it and working with him at the festival is going to be really awkward for her. She may suggest they take time apart till he decides or will she be the needy, trying hard to hang onto him type?

Wow. From the beginning of the episode seeing whats her face sitting on top of her brother made me think very dirty thoughts, then the random fan service of her added to that. Now my mind is filled with bro-sis incest ideas.. *looks towards Mao and Kouichi*

  16. Jauken7 February 22nd, 2008 10:44 am

Narutodesu> LOL! Whats her face’s name in Nana. And if you wanna see bro-sis, watch Koi Kaze.

DK> I agree, but Eriko wanted to learn about love and I guess that was the only way she could think of while attempting to avoid the actual attachment she fears. Looks like she got more than she bargained for. I also agree that the childhood friends thing has become overdone. I’m pulling for Yuumi but things are looking a little iffy right now.

maglor> If you look closely at the Eriko shower scene, she doesn’t have any tears pooling at the bottom of her eyes like they usually do, so she wasn’t crying. I don’t think there was any reason for her to be upset then anyway… that will come later.
