Kimikiss pure rouge – 23

Who needs True Tears when you have um……….True Hearts?

Summary:

The dvds for Akira’s film are finally completed, so Kouichi and the others start to get to work. Akira stops Kouichi, however, having him and Yumi go out to enjoy themselves in the festival. Megumi eventually appears to take Kazuki away as well, so Akira is left alone to do the work for himself. Passing by Asuka while she practices in the morning, Eriko remains troubled. Mao arrives to school late, but she hides herself when she sees Kouichi enjoying himself with Yumi. Stuck with Megumi, Kazuki wishes to see Eriko as soon as he can. On the rooftop watching below, Eriko can only think about Asuka’s situation with Kazuki. Kouichi comforts Yumi when she fears in the haunted house, and they exit to find Mitsuki in full costume. Wondering where to go next, Yumi suggests that she would like to meet everyone.

Although they are making many sales, Narumi is troubled about selling udon without her grandfather’s approval. A large crowd appears when her grandfather does appear, however, and a cheer is let out when he finally approves of Narumi’s dish. As Narumi’s grandfather leaves, Yumi and Kouichi appear to congratulate her and Nana. Mao’s class is extremely successful with their maid cafe, as Eiji and Tomoko play big roles. Making her final goal outside, Asuka decides on something. Kazuki is finally let off when Kouichi and Yumi arrive to take he and Megumi’s places, so he teases the two about their happy relationship. Kazuki admits that he will be meeting Eriko as well, but not until after the competition. Kouichi and Yumi decide to cheer Kazuki on, despite having to arrive a bit late.

Kazuki finally meets Eriko, but she can only be troubled when she hears about the upcoming soccer match. Many people rush to the fields as the competition starts. In the meantime, Megumi appears to help Akira pass out flyers for his movie. Elsewhere, Eriko finally decides to move after sitting in contemplation. Kazuki passes Asuka the ball at a critical moment on the field, and she is amazingly able to make the deciding goal. Being scouted out after the match, Asuka is given the chance to play in a female league. Putting this aside, she requests to talk alone with Kazuki. Yumi expresses her gladness after the match, but notices that Kouichi is staring at Mao in the distance. Getting his attention again, Yumi wonders where they should go next.

Alone with Kazuki, Asuka finally confesses to him. Kazuki is only able to apologize, but he thanks Asuka for what she’s done for him. Asuka takes the chance to give Kazuki a kiss just before running off in tears. Before leaving, she orders Kazuki to go to Eriko’s side. With this, Kazuki thanks Asuka again. Watching over his audience during the film, Akira sees that Megumi has been brought to tears. Panicking at the time announced over the intercom, Kazuki rushes out to meet Eriko. However, she is not there.

Preview: Why is everyone alone?

Impression:

Sigh…..just when I thought we finally got a good end, they mess it all up again. Come on guys, there’s one episode left. Stop messing with my head. As usual, there was a lot to notice in this episode, but not much to actually talk about. Minor things included Mitsuki in a vampire outfit (which reminded me of a certain other Noto role) and some crazy frog aprons. I found it really funny that Megumi actually likes Akira, but it’s really a fitting combination for two who don’t play big roles in this show. Kouichi again annoyed the crap out of me, staring obviously at Mao in the distance. Yumi is actually starting to annoy me too. I’m guessing she just wants to enjoy her last days with Kouichi, without any actual hope of having it last when she moves. I just wish she would say something. After last week, I already started having doubts about her relationship with Kouichi.

Asuka finally confessed to Kazuki, resulting in her properly being shot down. This was what usagijen predicted would be the final trigger to end this tie, so all signs would point towards Kazuki and Eriko finally being together without any doubt. Too bad they had to throw something ridiculous at us in the last five seconds…..again. With only one episode left, I’m expecting a really melodramatic end. I hope you’re ready for my final impression…

True Tears totally owns this anime, LOL!

I hate Kouichi and Mao so much I don’t give a crap about them any more. And go Asuka! I shall support her no matter what! But she’s not leaving, is she?

I agree with Blissmo. Kimikiss is not even one tenth of how good True Tears really is. You have to watch it, Totali. Once you watch True Tears, you gonna be like “Eriko ?? who is that? I don’t remember.” LOL

What?! NANI?! Totali doesn’t watch true tears? Omg, shock! LOL! Did you even try, totali? Or was the first episode too boring for you?

Plus, just watched Kimikiss 23 and Kouichi is asking for it … real bad. Poor Yuumi, she should just somehow kick the shits outta him. He deserves it. She knows he deserves it. ASLDKJSD! Die Kouichi! Rot in hell!

Asuka was cool, performing well and being recruited for a womens soccer team, then she did what she had to do and confessed to Kazuki. He was great trying to let her down easy because he cares about his long time friend. A parting kiss and a few tears as she takes off, well done. They were both a class act.

Well, at least Yuumi got some Koiuchi time without much distraction… until the soccer match. Mao should have just moved away from them on the same side of the field, but nnoooo, she has to go to the other side in direct line of sight! I expect poor Yuumi to to give him the old heave-ho next epi and I pray that Mao won’t accept him, but she probably will.

Poor Kazuki wanted to spend some quality time with his main squeeze at the festival but poor Eriko is sabotaging herself with guilt, doubt and fear. He really needs to get her to explain her issues and to make her understand his growing love and commitment for her… that is as soon as he finds her. I think she’ll have total meltdown if he speaks from his heart again and quells any further doubts about their relationship.

    Wow, kenshin514….I don’t believe you….at all!!!!!

But yea, I’m a noob that has only watched the first episode of True Tears when everyone and their brother have been telling me to watch it like 5 million times. By this point, I’m just planning on marathoning it during the summer…I might get to it sooner if I can find the time.

  9. DK March 17th, 2008 10:45 am

Oh hell no… Now I get this creeping feeling EVERYBODY’s gonna be alone in the final episode (’cept Akira and Megumi… they’re cool together.). Yuumi’s gonna blow off Kouichi big time and tell him to go back to Mao to feed his sister-complex, Mao’s gonna slap him around for being a Makoto-wanabee (sans libido), Eriko’s gonna self-destruct in 5 seconds and Kazuki, the only deserving guy up to this point, is gonna get caught in the explosion.

And I checked up on that True Tears anime… looks to be like a cry-fest to me (Suzuka and TokiMemo left a bad taste in my mouth). I ain’t gonna touch that.

  10. Totali March 17th, 2008 10:47 am

rofl Suzuka, aka the anime with the two most annoying protagonists in anime history. I have yet to get past the first eps of TokiMemo….and I really don’t know if I should even plan on finish watching it.

If things go bad for Eriko and Kazuki I will be really sad. Kouichi/Mao/Yumi? I could care less.

  11. octoberasian March 17th, 2008 2:47 pm

I agree, Totali. Eriko and Kazuki better end well, and hopefully her self-doubting goes away. If it ends badly, this studio is going to hear my “two-cents” from this. XD

I couldn’t care less about the Kouichi-Mao-Yumi triangle. It’s gotten into an unfocused, confusing mess with no resolution in sight, and possibly cramming everything into one episode.

  12. DK March 17th, 2008 10:27 pm

Y’know, I think all this Yuumi-Kouichi-Mao hate stems from Yuumi giving Kouichi her kiss way too early in the series. It’s like the producers said, “okay, now what?” and decided to just mess things up from there onwards.

  13. hazy March 17th, 2008 10:44 pm

I stopped caring about Mao x Kouichi episodes ago. Mao should take notes from Asuka who knows how to confess and leave things be. Kouichi should also take notes from Kazuki who knows how to kindly accept a confession but still stick to the girl he likes.

I agree with DK, Megumi and Akira make a pretty cool pair. =)

@Totali: LOL, you’re not alone. I haven’t seen True Tears yet either save for episode 1… come to think of it, I haven’t been past ep 1 of Shigofumi yet either. *hides from flying tomatoes*

  14. arigatou March 18th, 2008 5:12 am

Okay the situation between Kouichi X Yumi is becoming more like 5cm.

  15. stevelikesanime March 19th, 2008 9:43 pm

I hope I am ready for your final impression bcuz I’m gonna flame this when it ends
If anyone funny happen in this episode I’ll talk about the part when tomo-chan (Mao’s home teach) became part of the cafe and then that one guy clapped alone. It was really funny when he did. And then more people came to the cafe when tomo-chan became a maid. I guess most high school stuents like fine teachers. lol
I’m gonna point out another good thing. Megumi likes hiiragi?
that kinda awkward though we don’t exactly know, it was hinted. Kinda nice that she cried at the movie. And horray for Narumi for getting a job wel done for her udon. Dang her gramps is popular. must be a legend XD

and now I talk about the bad things.
First off Futami man. Common why you doubting about Kazuki? Asuka clearly won. (great job for her going all out) Man Asuka you put the emphasis of kiss in Kimikiss. good job.
And then onto Kouichi. I dont know what to say about him. He’s a douchebag. go get stabbed already. you have a good future ahead with Yumi yet your think about Mao at a time like that?

Last episode is just around the corner, I hope your all ready for this…

  16. DK March 20th, 2008 1:45 pm

Since the last episode may be a long ways off, I’mma post this rant here and then just repeat it again after I’ve watched the finale:

I dunno why Japanese love these types of romantic anime… y’know, the “harem-type” romance where the main guy/s get to chose their favorite girls like it was an All-You-Can-Eat buffet… It just really sickens me, how the genre encourages young men into becoming fickle-minded bastards, ready to switch girls at the flip of a dime.

Hopefully, this wouldn’t be the case for KimiKiss as the lines were CLEARLY drawn from the very start (Kazuki x Eriko, Kouichi x Yuumi, and Hiiragi x Megumi since they’re really cool… Kai x Mao can bugger off, it just ain’t happening now). I mean, c’mon, Mitsuki is (supposed to be) one of the heroines, but you don’t see her crushing on of the main guys, right? Same goes for Narumi, too. Here’s to hoping that the moral of the entire series is to stick to the ones you love, even through intense emotional turmoil.
