Believe in me who believes in your acting!
Summary:
Toyama leaves with Nagisa for school, but she does not give her usual goodbye to her parents. While walking with Tomoya, Nagisa expresses her belief that her parents gave up on their dreams because of her. She also believes that she is causing trouble for those who are helping her now, but Tomoya only encourages her to do her best for everyone’s sake. When the usual group meets in the clubroom, Youhei notices that Nagisa is acting differently than usual. He does his best to cheer her up, but his intentions fail as usual. The group decides to go outside because of the amount of time they have, so Tomoya wonders what Nagisa would like to do. Toyama finally manages to get Nagisa’s attention, so she agrees that she must do her best for everyone else’s sake. The two enjoy themselves for awhile, but end up losing each other in the crowds. Tomoya finds Sanae inside the school, then wondering if Akio will come after the previous incident.
Nagisa enters the archival room, finding Yukine inside. Nagisa is surprised to find a certain set of videos, and Yukine takes the chance to leave for a bit. When Tomoya meets Yukine and learns what Nagisa is doing, he quickly rushes to her. When he enters the room, he finds Nagisa watching an old video of her father’s acting. Nagisa sees that Akio was extremely good at acting, but when she reaches the part of the video where he is accepting his reward, Tomoya cuts it off. He expresses that Nagisa is herself, and that she can only do what she can. The time finally comes for Nagisa’s play, but she freezes in her depression. The others wonder what is wrong, but Tomoya is assured that Nagisa would be able to pull through. Thinking about her father’s dreams and what she has recently learned, Nagisa is brought to tears on stage. Tomoya is conflicted about cutting Nagisa off, when Akio suddenly appears at the auditorium’s entrance. Yelling out for Nagisa to fulfill her dreams, he suggests that her dreams are her parent’s dreams. As Akio gives his support as family, Sanae also cheers her on. When even Tomoya rushes down to give his support, Nagisa is finally able to start her act.
Nagisa quickly begins her story; the story of the desolate world. In the world, only she existed. Eventually, she began to find many parts to create another individual. While building it, she could only wonder if this would bring happiness to the new life. Advancing to the future, the robot realizes again that he is in a desolate world. He realizes that no other life could be created, and that he would no longer return to where he once existed. The robot does his best to tell the girl that they would create something else. And although the girl believes it will be in vain, the robot does not let go of his enthusiasm. Helping the girl build, the robot believes that this is a very wonderful thing. Planning on always spending time with the girl, the robot believes that they will one day return to the warm world. At the end of the play, many clap for Nagisa’s wonderful performance. At the back of the audience, Akio is very relieved with a smile.
Outside together afterwards, Nagisa begins to tell Tomoya the continuation of the story. The girl and doll traveled a great distance to the warm world, but at the end of the journey, they began to sing. This throws Tomoya’s anticipation off, but he still expresses that Nagisa’s performance was the best. Nagisa is very happy to hear the honest reaction, when Tomoya’s father appears. Tomoya instantly turns away, but he learns that Nagisa had sent an invitation to him. Tomoya’s father expresses that he remembered many things of the past because of the play, but his son will still not look at him. Before he leaves, Tomoya gives his father a bit of advice. Tomoya suggests that he and Nagisa go out to have some fun, and states that he has something to talk to her about the next day. The two are then interrupted by Kyou, who invites them to the party that is going on in the club room. On the following day, Tomoya and Nagisa enjoy themselves to the fullest in town. The two enter the empty clubroom, finding an item of the past on the blackboard. Bringing up his want to talk to her, Tomoya is finally able to confess to Nagisa. Although in a large amount of surprise, Nagisa happily accepts Tomoya’s want to spend the rest of his time with her.
Preview: It’s definitely going to the yaoi route.
Impression:
Wooooooo~! Man, I definitely started shedding tears when Akio bursted in with his hopes for Nagisa. That was epic on so many levels. Tomoya’s confession to Nagisa at the end was just as great, but it just seemed more like a beginning than an end. I’m sure that’s what they had in mind though. The rest of the episode was excellent, and it actually came off a bit different than expected after watching the movie. I loved the atmosphere the first part of the episode had, even though Nagisa’s depression seemed really overblown. I’m still amazed at how absorbed I can become while watching scenes that would usually seem really embarrassing and silly. It just proves what a great job Kyoani does as a studio, despite my usual claims that they are overrated. I was pretty happy to see more of the robot and girl too, since those are some of my favorite parts of this show. I actually ended up laughing at the end with the insert song, but that was for all the wrong reasons. Looks like the next episode will be pretty light despite being the last of the series. I’m still expecting to have an OVA to cover the after story. After all, Tomoya’s story has not yet been concluded.

yoai route or just using sunohara to get to his sister!!!
Why must it end! T___T
Hmm, next to last (?) episode and Fuuko still hasn’t waken up.
Hmm. . .
Yea I forgot to mention that. I wouldn’t be surprised if they did it in the next ep.
Why can’t a main character ever end up having a harem ending?WHY! Is there any anime where the main character gets all the girls?lol. i hate emo Nagisa. I hope the special is good.
@Totali: man, if they do another round of Fuuko reincarnation instead of finally humanizing her, I’m afraid I’ll have to be forced to drop the rating of this series by at least three points.
I got one question. Will they make a TV Series for Tomoyo After? If they do hope it’s not hentai
I loved it but dammit it makes me so sad that its overish. I’m glad they have that special extra episode though. I just hate it so much when good shows end. Its the same way I felt when I finished watching Kanon. But man I’ve become so obsessed with this show its hard to compare it to Kanon. To me it was Kanon > Clannad > Air now its sorta Kanon= Clannad > Air
