Shina Dark DVD Preview

I. LOVE. SHAAAAAAAFFFFFTTTTTTT~!!!

…..What? I’ve been looking forward to Shaft’s new summer work since a certain cool peep mentioned it in one of my ef posts awhile back. If you’re unfamiliar with the story, you can check the ANN page as usual. I haven’t read the manga yet, but I probably will soon after hearing fairly good reviews from super cool Fang-tan and Demian. Some people have been wondering how an anime is being made when there are only two volumes out, but hey, it’s Shaft. No need for questions right?

The actual dvd preview contained what very much seems to be two OPs and two EDs for the upcoming series - a whole season ahead of time! As expected, the animation was beautiful. Aside from a few CG islands (what?), this was everything I was expecting from my favorite production team. There were even some styles that were really reminiscent of Negima. The music was great, and I was jumping in excitement after hearing Kawasumi Ayako’s voice (Daisuke Ono is playing a role as well, for fans of his unique character). Since the preview was only the series themes, I’d say go for it if you want to watch it RAW. Or, you could stop by Tenka Seiha where Aroduc has demonstrated his youtube powers as usual (but you’ll miss the boobies). Of course, being the loyal fanboy I am, this is already guaranteed to be on my list for the summer season. …Now, if I could only get more motivated for the upcoming one…!

    I feel the same! When I saw the Special it was like (oh waoo SHAFT is doing it). I am so excited!!!!

    You will understand. No this is not fighting anime. It’s probably OVA given there isn’t much material to go on.

    I found the manga recently and fell in love with the story, characters and artwork… To find out it is suddenly going to be animated… I feel so excited! I can’t wait…

    I’ve had very little to look forward to for a while.. =P

    I doubt it. I am sure this will be a tv series. This here was just a dvd preview of the tv series.

    I’m also excited for this. It’s a comedy set in a fantasy world with some serious themes. Daisuke Ono is almost perfect to voice Cero because of his ability to have serious and unserious voice.

    Also looks like Kawasumi Ayako is voicing more comedic characters this season (which is definitely not a bad thing).

    I’ll echo the vote on reading the Manga, and thank goodness I got it wrong about the animation studio handling this. I had been under the mistaken impression that it was going to be GONZO doing it, and it gave me nightmare fuels just thinking about it.

    I can live with SHAFT, but I just hope they don’t “Shinbo” it.
