It's kind of sad that, due to by busy work schedule, I had to hold off finishing ARIA the Origination for several months... That, and I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't afraid of seeing something so good end. Now that I've finally found the time, I found that the closure to the franchise wasn't that bad... Bittersweet, and there were tears shed in the process, but not in sadness, but of happiness for such a great end.

Indeed, it completes the circle, with Akari now where Alicia was, and Ai-chan taking up her mantle as the undine-in-training. And life in Neo Venezia goes on...

I am so going to buy the manga, 2 volumes have been released in Finland so far, and they are damn cheap, 10€ each.

For me, the best part about this show is that the "frozen time" from the start till they become primas is filled with timeless stories which you can still enjoy years from now, or even maybe as an old fart in a retirement home.

The manga and later possibly the anime as well, deserves a spot in my bookcase.

I've just scanlated and released a short side-story Navigation from the Aria Perfect Guide Book which accompanied the anime series, if anyone's interested. You can get it via BitTorrent or direct download through my website at www.nojay.org. Be kind, it's my first pure Japanese translation job.

If you liked Aria you might also find Ashinano Hitoshi's award-winning anime/manga "Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou" to your taste. There have been four half-hour OAVs fansubbed and torrented and all 14 volumes of the manga have also been scanlated. Surprisingly nobody has picked up either the OAVs or the manga for Western release -- it's another of those slice-of-life healing storylines (lesbian robot biker chicks with guns roam a post-apocalyptic wasteland) where nothing much happens, but it's damn fine stuff.

Aria Series is such a wonderful anime. It requires an aquired taste to really enjoy the magic that it gives off. I only watched the anime so I really need to get the manga for sure. Let's hope for some OVA's!

It's great to see that Akari really has grown up, but for me, it seems to have come at the cost of overshadowing the wonders of Aqua, which I really like.

Throughout Origination, not a single 'mysterious' thing happened to Akari. Last time we saw that Fantasia style story was in episode 22 of Natural, when President Aria went to that cross-dressing alternate world. For Akari, it was the episode before that, when she almost gets on the Galaxy Express.

Anyway, Aria has remained a great series. I won't keep my hopes up of there being any more, since you can't get a better conclusion than this.

you know, it'd be cool if you made this into an April Fools joke: "WHAT A HORRIBLE WAY TO END THE SERIES!!! WHERES THE ARIA H???"

but yea.... if these don't encourage them to make doujins, I don't know what will!

"a bit sad" is an understatement there, Billy.

I found it to be pretty cool and somewhat funny that Akari ended up just like Alicia.
