Saturday Review, Spring ‘08
Kamen no Maid Guy: I’m really not sure what is up with this season, but I’ve been pretty disappointed all around so far. Maid Guy’s animation was a lot worse than I was expecting it to be. It reminded me a lot of Kaibutsu Oujo, which was also done by Madhouse. Unfortunately, this show doesn’t have the same themes that actually kept me attached to Princess Resurrection. There was quite a bit of fanservice, and we were quickly thrown into the “siblings get into odd situation” plot. I did laugh a few times, but for the most part, I wasn’t very enthused at all. One thing to note was the really weird OP. I didn’t realize it was KOTOKO until the name popped on screen, since it doesn’t sound like her usual work at all.
Blassreiter: There really isn’t much to say about this one. I didn’t have any high hopes for it at all. This was Gonzo attempting to include as much CG as possible into a single episode. That includes CG cars, chairs, and NAME TAGS. The first episode had what seemed like a crappy video game plot, dealing with a “genius racer” and some CG monster dealing havoc. This show is also being streamed online with official subs along with Druaga, so that might be one incentive for those who can actually sit through this.
I may or may not watch Zettai Karen Children tonight. There are a lot of good shows airing tomorrow, and I’ll be busy heading back to campus and with class work.

Whoa, CG name tags, that sounds awesome!
Wait… the damn name tag was CG too… I was really dissapointed by Blassreiter. I wasnted it to be good because of how Gonzo was offering it… but Tower of Druaga is beating it hands down.
I was interested in Kamen no Maid Guys just for the Lols… I am willing to check it out when it comes out…
Both these anime I don’t plan on watching. Blassretier cos it got a pink-head (the ones from Code Geass and Naruto are acceptable) and Kamen no Maid Guy, I dunnoes, looks weird …
whoa! Since when have you been going all Kabi-kun on me? (the pic captions)
I’m only doing it for these lazy reviews. I basically stole psgels, hinano, and Kabitzin’s ideas and threw them all over the place. I guess it’s better than not blogging these shows at all (which is what I originally planned on doing).
Don’t worry, Totali. I’m sure that Code Geass R2 that will come out tomorrow will cheer you up XD
I thought Blassreiter was alright. In know the plot isn’t something everyone will go “Yay!” too. But I liked it’s presentation.
