We’re going raw with this one. And by raw, I mean RAW. I was idling online in Smash Bros while doing some reading for English, when Aroduc invited me to watch Zettai Karen Children live with him. I was definitely up for it after such a boring day of crappy anime, so this is where we ended up. This show is hilarious. I was kind of weirded out by the awful visuals at first, including CG vehicles at random, but I soon found that this series isn’t one that takes itself seriously.

We were quickly introduced to the three stars of the series, Akashi Kaoru, Sannomiya Shiho, and Nogami Aoi, as they get sent out by their director to battle a criminal that is causing havoc in the streets. When they finally catch up to him, the three girls get caught in some tentacle action and one of the girls says “boku” (she’s already my favorite). Here’s the catch, the villain is totally into yaoi and he shoots beams from his private part. One of the men on the girls’ side gets captured by the maniac, but the girls of course appear to save him. With this, the day is saved and the girls complete one of their many missions to come. There was definitely more to it than that, but I was way too busy laughing like crazy to pay attention to all of it (can’t…..rewind……live…..).

I spent most of the half hour spamming Aroduc in IRC, especially during the hilarious commercials. My house gets Chinese satellite, so I’ve actually seen a lot of similar stuff, but I still shouted out after seeing things like the SAIVA and Detective Conan commercials. There were way more laughs in the actual show though, especially when one of the girls held up a Megumi mag with what looked like Mao on the front. What else is there to say? I was definitely surprised by this show, and it made my Saturday night. I’ve got a lot of other things to blog though, and I’m more than positive that others will be interested in this as well.
