OP: “O2″ by ORANGE RANGE - Sunrise’s usual lazy yet well animated stuff. It hints towards a lot of the events that will be happening in the future as always. Also, I know I’m not the only one who’s got the Orange joke at the tip of my tongue.

Short Summary:

The start of the episode is instantly confusing, with things like Villetta chasing after Lelouch as a gym teacher. One year has passed since the “death” of Zero, and things have become much like they were before the Black Knights’ reign. Lelouch has lost all of his memories of being Zero, and he’s gone back to his class skipping antics. This time though, he’s got his younger brother Rollo with him. The two arrive at a gambling gathering, and Lelouch gets caught up in a challenge with one of the the higher ups after a run in with Kallen. Lelouch smashes him in chess, but the guy of course refuses to accept this. Lelouch is saved by the arrival of the Black Knights, as havoc is caused between them and the Britannian army. While Lelouch attempts to help Rollo, the Black Knights constantly reach out to him. After meeting C.C. again, the Brittannian army reveals that they’ve been investigating Lelouch in order to prove that he was Zero. With another kiss from C.C., Lelouch regains all of his memories and has the soldiers kill themselves. Elsewhere, Suzaku is hanging out with a new team.

ED: “Shiawase Neiro” by ORANGE RANGE - pretty picture end! It’s a lot like the first season’s EDs, which isn’t a bad thing at all.

Preview: All I saw was Kallen’s ass.

Impression:

First of all, I have been psyched for the past few weeks that Orange Range is playing both the OP and ED for R2. They have been one of my favorite bands for a few years now, and I listen to them on a regular basis. Both of the songs sound a lot like what they have been playing recently, which is kind of like a developing sound. So, I wonder how many of you are sick of this experimentation with seasonal impressions I’m doing? I’m unfortunately unable to do the usual “cover everything under the sun” thing this time around because of school work, but I can at least find the time to get my thoughts out on a lot of the stuff. Time management you know? Anyways, after a quite disappointing Saturday, it looks like the meat of the season will start today. Geass is no exception, with a ridiculous episode that had me remembering everything I love about this show.

Like every other azn boy on the planet earth, I like mecha. No, I LOVE mecha. Geass is no exception, and it definitely took a spot on my favorites list when I started watching it last year. This episode had me dropping my jaw multiple times, as I was constantly surprised at how I could get drawn into such a ridiculous and predictable plot. That’s one thing I’ve never understood about this series, but I tend to just not fight what I know is so right. Seeing hot C.C. was great as usual, but I think I nose bled a little after seeing Kallen in a bunny suit. The “Nippon banzai” was as hilarious as it has ever been, and it only took a few minutes to get back into the blatant Pizza Hut advertisement. I’m not sure what to think of Rollo. It’s like he’s being shoved into the show for a “brother saves brother” kind of thing. I guess Suzaku isn’t good enough for Lelouch anymore.

Anyways wow, this lazy post actually ended up being kind of a real one. I guess that shows how I secretly passionate I am about this show. I will definitely be watching this every week as soon as it comes out, but I’m not one to jump on someone else’s train when I don’t have to.
