Summary:

In Rito’s dreams, Haruna questions his relationship with Lala. Rito assures Haruna that there isn’t much to it, as she falls into his arms. Rito suddenly wakes to find Lala naked and attached to him, however, as she wanted to be by his side. When the two go downstairs for breakfast, Lala expresses how delicious the meal Mikan has prepared is. The siblings to not believe it is anything special, but Lala states that this is the first time she has enjoyed such a warm breakfast. Rito believes that it is standard for breakfasts to be warm, but Zastin suddenly appears to state that this isn’t necessarily true for those on Deviluke. On the way to school, Lala quickly catches up to Haruna to talk to her. Their conversation about breakfast continues when they meet some of the other girls in class, who wonder about Lala’s customs from the place she came from. The girls further wonder about Lala’s relationship with Rito, so she answers that they are engaged.

In the meantime, Zastin finds a troubled Rito on the school rooftop. Rito describes his wonder if it is okay to get married at such a young age, which Zastin agrees could be troubling. Zastin reminds Rito that he would become the Deviluke’s king, however, making Rito wonder what he would so with that kind of position. When Zastin talks about the wars he would be in, Rito instantly becomes worried. Zastin begins suggesting various training for Rito, but he panics at the thought of all of them. As the bell rings for class to start, Rito quickly runs away in fear. In class, Rito can only remain troubled about what would happen if he were to marry Lala. This causes a misunderstanding when Honekawa-sensei calls on him to answer a question.

When everyone reaches home, Mikan has sukiyaki prepared for Lala and the others. Zastin who is also there describes how delicious the meal is, making Rito and Mikan wonder what kind of food they have on Deviluke. Lala suggests that she will try making some, but the result is disastrous for Rito. When Rito returns to the living, he learns that this was actually the first time that Lala had tried cooking. Remembering the horrifying images of war, Rito decides that he has come up with a way to avoid marriage. Rito exclaims that he will not marry a woman who does not know how to cook, forcing Lala to run out of the house in tears. Rito believes that it is alright like this, but he finds it very empty in his room the next morning. Of course, Mikan is also angry with her brother while wondering what would happen if Lala did not return.

Most of Rito’s friends wonder where Lala is when he walks to school alone as well. In class, Rito starts to regret how he forced Lala out. However, Lala quickly enters to energetically state that her preparations are done. Lala brings Rito to another room, showing him the device she has to make food with. Rito has only had wars on his mind, however, so Lala explains to him that he would not have to lead them himself. This puts Rito in a lot of surprise, but Lala only goes on about how happy she was to be liked by Rito again. Lala changes into an apron, only adding a bit more clothes when Rito requests it. As Lala begins work, Rito notices that she seems like a normal girl while she does this.

Haruna enters the room while searching for Rito and Lala, but she panics at what she sees. Rito believes she is worried about his being with Lala, but in reality, she is worried about the things appearing out of Lala’s device. When Rito turns around, he sees that a giant octopus has appeared in the room. This creature proceeds to take hold of Lala, and Haruna passes out when she is also picked up. Zastin appears to attempt to save the three in the room, but this proves ineffective when another creature appears to spit oil in his face. As a third creature appears to battle, chaos occurs as the room proceeds to break.

Impression:

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…………what just happened here? No. No……WHAT JUST HAPPENED? Okay, until the ending, this episode was pretty fun and standard lovcom. I really loved Lala’s interaction with Mikan again, and Rito’s freaking out about the war he would have to face was hilarious. The overdramatic scene when he forced Lala out of the house was classic, and his dying from the food was hilarious. Haruna’s interaction with everyone was fun too. I loved her fainting and causing misunderstandings for Rito. Funny enough, right after I questioned Lala’s tail last week, they indirectly explained that the students only believe that it is a cultural custom for her. Okay, I don’t know what they are teaching in Japanese classrooms nowadays, but I’ve never heard of a culture that has women with freaking tails.

I almost thought that they were going to manage to pull off an entire episode without excessive fanservice, but alas, I was mistaken…..big time. While I was laughing most of the time, the last part of this episode definitely gave me a blank stare for about two minutes. Really, 3D octopus monsters? Really? I really…..don’t even want to talk about it. In other news, the OP single came out earlier this week. This may be one of the few cases where I actually like the TV sized version more than the full version. I just don’t think the song is as appealing without the unique animation. But eh, it’s not the type of music I usually listen to anyways. Next week will be the introduction of Tenjoin Saki. I’m expecting her to play the typical oujo-sama role, but I’m more excited that Kawasumi Ayako will be playing her role.

also, yeah, the full op wasn’t so good, i love the animation and well, i guess i was only able to stomach 2000 repeats of the tv sized because it was so short….

Sigh….I finally put the filler episode. They also jump quite a lot of the time-line compared to the manga version. I still gonna stick around and watch the anime version but I still recommend everyone to read the manga. It’s much funnier.
