Summary:

Facing Yoite, Kotarou stands in front of many other Fuuma ninja who have followed. Yoite simply retreats from this obviously unfavorable circumstance, so the Fuuma quickly have preparations to treat the wounded around Miharu. Miharu and the others are taken care of by the Fuuma medics shortly after. Miharu and Kouichi learn that Kumohira will be fine, and a lot of this is credited to Miharu’s shout that allowed the ninjas to find their location. Kotarou enters shortly after, asking the young ninja Juji of the circumstances. Raimei is fine outside, yet in a very depressed mood. When Kotarou meets Miharu, the explanation of Yoite’s ability “kira” is brought up again. Being an ability that uses one’s own life force, even Kotarou expresses a bit of worry about it.

Miharu and Kouichi are led to other places by the woman named Saraba next, as they pass by many injured Fuuma. Saraba guesses that Miharu is wondering why no one is saddened that their comrades have died, so she suggests that this can be done afterwards as a ninja. In the meantime, Raimei lets out a large scream. Finally back to her usual self, she declares that she will defeat Yoite the next time she meets him. Soon after being introduced to their living quarters, Raimei drags Kouichi out so that they can train. Miharu is left inside because he doesn’t seem to be up for it, and as the two leave him, Miharu can only think about all of the Fuuma that have been hurt. He wonders if the Kairoshu want his hijitsu that badly, recalling that this was the first time that he let out such a large scream. As he falls to sleep, he realizes that his throat hurts a bit.

Later that night, Kotarou gives a speech to encourage his followers after the grave incident that has occurred. When he introduces Miharu, many of the ninja cannot believe that he is the holder of the Shinrabanshou. When he is given the chance to talk, Miharu suggests that there is no reason for those to die over the hijitsu he holds and was creates ages ago. The women around believe that this is admirable talk from the one who is in the most danger, but this is not what Miharu believes. When Miharu suddenly suggests that Kotarou who has written many ninjitsu books may want the power of his hijitsu as well, Kotarou surprisingly replies that he would obviously want it. He suggests many ridiculous things such as taking care of all the Kairoshu and having many women follow him, however, which is apparently a quite common speech in the Fuuma village. Kotarou simply offers his aid to Miharu afterwards, implying his need to become stronger to become the Nabari no Ou. Afterwards while alone with Kouichi and Raimei, Miharu wonders what Kouichi would want if he were to be able to use the hijitsu within him. Kouichi suggests that this isn’t something he would want, but Miharu only wonders if his stabbing him earlier was really to protect him. Before walking away, Miharu only suggests that there is no need to stay so close to him.

Elsewhere later, the Fuuma scroll is exchanged between Yukimi and a deliverer. The man wonders how Yukimi was able to find the Fuuma village, but he credits this to Yoite. The deliverer is surprised that Yoite is such a childish looking person, but this causes Yoite to strangle him with his power. After Yukimi stops him and the man leaves, Yoite only suggests that something is wrong with him. Yukimi loads a video on his screen afterwards, as he watches with many others the speech that Toujuurou has started.

Raimei trains vigorously with Saraba in a Fuuma dojo, amazing Kouichi. In the infirmary, Kumohira wakes to find Miharu reading a scroll next to his bed. After getting the status report, Kumohira expresses his disappointment with himself. When he suggests that he was unable to do anything in the end, Miharu disagrees by saying that it was himself that could not. This makes Miharu repeat something that his grandmother had told him about the need for both individuals to be saved. Kumohira wonders if something is troubling Miharu, but he only replies by saying that he was picked on slightly by Kotarou. This makes Kumohira approach Kotarou in panic, all to Miharu’s usual devilish plans. The Banten and Raimei meet with Kotarou later, who is willing to answer any questions. Miharu wonders if there is a way to separate with the hijitsu within him, as he has no need for it. However, it is revealed that because the Shinrabanshou has fused with its host, removing it would result in death.

When Miharu is asked about how much he knows about his hijitsu and position, he admits that he isn’t extremely well informed about it. With this, Miharu is told of the events up to this point dealing with the hijitsu within him. There were three previous holders of the hijitsu, and the clans that formed once wished to dispose of it. Killing the users, they believed it would be disposed of. However, it only returned. In the present time, the clans have separated and the whereabouts have become unknown. Kotarou soon suggests that they will come up with a new ninjitsu, one that would safely remove and destroy the hijitsu. The Kairoshu have actually been planning the same thing through different means and goals, as Toujuurou expresses his hopes to those listening to him throughout the web. Raimei is forced to bring back a suddenly uninterested Miharu, as Kotarou asks for Kumohira to have a leader arranged for the Banten village. Simultaneously, Toujuurou and Kotarou asks their followers to find the hidden ninja villages and obtain the kinjitsu scrolls. Kumohira and the others are surprised that Kotarou’s means of obtaining these are the same as the Kairoshu’s, but he simply reminds them that he never promised for his means to be just. With this, the ninja are given a new mission.

Preview: The plot develops….uh….and stuff.

Impression:

Impz Juji was so cute! So, most of this episode just set up some development for the events to come in the future as well as wrapping up the events from last week’s episode. I almost expected Raimei to go on an emo trip, but she surprisingly recovered right away. I think she’s becoming a much more appealing character by defeating all of the typical female character stereotypes. It’s always fun to see her swing that sword around too, her opponent being the busty Saraba this time around. The revealing of Yoite’s actually childish and troubled nature was also interesting, though I found it funny seeing Yukimi’s usual super modern way of doing things again. Honestly, I was really distracted during Toujuurou’s speech on the monitor for a lot of reasons. One being Yukimi and Yoite’s munching, the other being the funny mac os rip off.

Kotarou comes off as the usual silly yet powerful leader, with his explanations and plans dealing with Miharu’s situation being put in place (and taking a long time to translate). It looks like finding the hidden villages will end up being a major part of Nabari’s story, which just makes me snicker a bit at how typically ninja it is. Many people may have been getting tired of Miharu’s tricks against Kumohira and the others, but I really like seeing his development in character. It showed through again in this episode as he thought about all of those dying around him, along with the suggestion he supposedly got from his grandmother. The story has already gotten past how much I’ve sampled in the manga, so I’m ready to find out more of the story in the next episode.

it’s soo Impz … I basically turned off my brain when the Web dude was talking … freeaking split conversation scenes.

I think it was interesting to see the characters just sort of “hanging out” especially Koite and Yukimi, they’re like a pair of frat boys or something.
