Wagaya no Oinarisama - 10
Drunk miko!
Summary:
With her mask now removed, Tenko wonders why Fukuro has the same face as Mubyo. She reveals, however, that it is the other way around. Toru begins asking Mubyo things about her supposedly lost contact, but she makes him realize that they are not really searching for one. Toru wonders how long they will continue to walk, but Mubyo only suggests that she will get back at Fukuro. Mubyo had actually planned on using Tenko to kill Fukuro, as she could not kill Fukuro because she likes her. Toru recalls that Mubyo had just stated her hatred for Fukuro, but she states that she hates and likes her. This is the kind of living being that Mubyo is. Watching as she breaks into tears, Toru suggests that they walk for a bit longer. When Fukuro states that Mubyo had run away from her, Tenko starts to laugh about it. When she further mentions that Mubyo had taken Toru along with her, however, Tenko quickly goes after them. Appearing with a moped, Ebisu begins to follow as well.
In her drunken state, Ko begins lighting several fireworks around her. The boys are surprised to see what kind of character Ko really is, but Sakura quickly makes them realize what is truly going on. Sakura covers Noboru’s eyes when Ko starts to expose part of herself do to the heat, but Ko soon starts to leave the school grounds. Sakura starts to follow Noboru as he chases after Ko, but one of her sandals becomes undone. Worrying what would happen if Noboru and Ko were alone, she doesn’t give up on her chase.
Near the school grounds, Mubyo starts a “what if” conversation with Toru. If Toru had gotten a perfect score on a test, and he were to show it to his mother who praised her, would he be happy? Toru agrees that he probably would be, which makes Mubyo express that this is what she wants from Fukuro. Mubyo recalls that she did not receive praise even though she had always protected the Sakasaen, wondering about the purpose of her existence. She takes the chance to put the Sakasaen around Toru’s neck, then correctly predicting that Tenko was only a short distance away. Mubyo then orders Tenko to kill Fukuro while threatening Toru’s life. Toru suggests that Mubyo would be the most troubled if this were to happen, but she is confident that Fukuro would not lose to Tenko. She only wanted to do this so that she would be noticed. To Mubyo’s surprise, however, Tenko suggests that she do whatever she wishes. After all, Toru had put himself in his position. Angered, Mubyo causes Toru to become engulfed in flames. While this happens, one of the bracelets around Toru’s wrist begins to glow.
Toru soon finds that he is not covered in flames, and sees that it is actually Mubyo who is taking the damage. Tenko quickly apologizes for leaving Toru’s side, explaining the one of the bracelets she had given him would reflect any ability casted on him for one charge. The flames around Mubyo are put out when Ebisu arrives, and Toru is surprised to see Mubyo’s true doll like appearance. When Fukuro arrives, Toru is shocked to see that there are two Mubyo’s. Fukuro explains, however, that she is the true Mubyo. Ebisu further explains that Mubyo is a god, and the other Mubyo is a doll. Mubyo soon approaches her copy, suggesting that she was only testing her. When her copy turns, she can only be concerned about the injuries Mubyo has taken on her face. In tears, the doll falls into Mubyo’s arms.
Toru is impressed when a dragon suddenly appears in the sky, which Ebisu describes as the Mizuchi’s. This actually belongs to Ko, who appears while chasing after it. Noboru appears shortly after, running out of breath from chasing after her. In the meantime, Mubyo’s doll offers an apology to Toru while again bursting into tears. Mubyo promises to pay back Tenko as she regains the Sakasaen, but she believes the next time she will appear will not be for another 80 years. In the morning, the doll Mubyo energetically appears so show Toru her new hands. She also presents a gift to Ko, the Sakasaen. While watching from above, Tenko wonders if Mubyo is really okay with parting with such an item. She is, of course, only hoping to see what kind of person Toru would turn out to be when she returned in the future.

Impression:
There wasn’t enough drunk Ko in this episode! I got really pumped for some love power action when Sakura chased after Noboru too, but we never really got much in the end. Oh well. This episode finished the Mubyo/Sakasaen arc, finally revealing Mubyo’s intentions. As I hoped, her wishes did not turn out to be as threatening as they seemed to be. It was interesting to find out that Mubyo was a doll, but honestly, I was a lot more concerned about how annoying it was to write a summary while referring to the two characters with the same name and face! Other than that, I loved seeing her tear up from wanting attention from the real Mubyo. Tenko’s loyalty to Toru always make me smile as well, and this episode was no exception. It will be interesting to see what Ko will be able to do with the Sakasaen in the future, but it looks like it will be awhile before we see anything happen with that. And as much as I can enjoy the plot of this series, I’m very excited to see more of the comedy side that the preview suggests will be showing up next week.
