Wagaya no Oinarisama - 11
Even if it costs my life!
Summary:
Ko sees that Noboru and Toru are tired when they wake up in the morning, as they explain that the second semester of school has started. Soon after seeing the boys off, Ko runs into trouble with a small cat. This makes her accidentally break a window, which Tenko is quick to laugh about when she notices. At school, Sakura asks Noboru if he would walk home with her in the afternoon. He is forced to deny, but he does not tell her the reasons dealing with his usual money and grocery troubles. While cleaning up her mess at home, Ko can only worry about the various mistakes she has made in the past. She wonders if she could get advice from anyone, leading her to remember Sakura’s previous offer. Sakura meets Ko after school, leading the two to a restaurant to talk. After hearing her troubles, Sakura suggests that Ko try getting a job. To her luck, an offering is available at the very location. When Noboru hears this news at home, he insists that Ko does not have to go so far. Ko insists that she cannot cause anymore trouble for Noboru, however, giving him no choice but to allow her to. When Tenko sees that Ko has received gifts of food from her employer, she declares that she will work as well.
Tenko shows up along with Ko at her workplace the next day, having used her powers to convince the manager that she was able to work there as well. When Sakura stops by to check on Ko, she meets Noboru who was also worried about her. When the two are set at a table, Sakura is surprised to find that Tenko is their waitress. Tenko confirms that Ko is doing fine, but this doesn’t last for long as she trips and breaks some glasses. Tenko, on the other hand, becomes easily frustrated by the customers who cannot quickly decide what they would like to order. Noboru is forced to apologize to the manager for the girls’ constant mistakes, only causing Sakura to worry about their relationship even more. The manager finally has her last straw when Tenko is found eating many of the restaurants dishes, making her dismiss both of the girls from work. Ko apologizes when she reaches home, but Noboru is shocked when she suggests that she will be trying another job.
Tenko uses his charm to obtain a job at a burger shop later, further using it to attract many girls to the location. Ko has trouble preparing the food in the back, however, getting her fired once again. Noboru insists that Ko stop, but she wishes to at least work enough to pay for the broken glass. When Ebisu finds Tenko and Ko searching for jobs later, he offers for them to work for the new pizza delivery service he has started. Tenko believes that he has easily delivered all of the pizzas he was assigned to, but a young fan of Tenko intervenes with every delivery. Ko, on the other hand, has trouble following directions for a single delivery. Ebisu does not believe Tenko has delivered the pizzas properly when he returns, so when Noboru and Toru show up, they are forced to go with Tenko to find proof that he was not at fault. When Tenko tests sending a pizza to a household, the boys see the girl from earlier appear to take it. Ko unknowingly helps to corner the girl, and the boys learn that the she isn’t human afterwards. Finding that the girl is his fan, however, Tenko lets her go after signing an autograph for her. Ko attempts to leave the Takagami household for her errors later, but with Sakura’s help, Noboru prevents her from doing so. When Noboru takes the chance to ask where Ko planned on moving, she points at a tree not far from the house.

Um….hello, Suiseki…..? Although filled with little plot, this episode has easily been my favorite so far. As if watching Ko and Tenko’s usual antics wasn’t enough, watching them fail at various jobs had me laughing for 20 minutes straight. I’ve personally worked for my family’s restaurant for most of my life, doing just about any type of job you can think of, so that could have easily made me connect with this episode more. Making mistakes like Ko did is typically depressing, but this episode made it seem so silly and hilarious. Watching Sakura’s usual love troubled self was just as funny, and I’ll never get tired of her delusional panics. Seeing Tenko use his male version charm in full force was a riot as well, especially with his convincing the fangirls to buy more and more food. Probably the only real question this episode brought up was the identity of the random fangirl who showed up to intervene with Tenko’s work. I’ll assume that we’ll either be seeing her in a future episode, or that she was the cat from the beginning of the episode. But for now, I’m just waiting for the day she says “desu”.

Old lady with a sniper rifle? Either she’s really good despite her age, or she’ll be a poor shot at it that it can go wild; either way it would be really scary to be in front of her line of fire.
oh that image.
its actually a revamped version of this image from the novels.

This show is so damn fun. I really want to see this episode.
And the fangirl looks very much like Suiseki indeed, I’ll look forward to hearing her.
