To Love-Ru – 12
………….
Summary:
Lala notices that Rito is in a good mood in the morning, as he imagines gaining Haruna’s favor by winning events at the upcoming sports festival. During his distraction, however, Rito causes Haruna embarrassment as usual. As the sports festival begins, Saki takes the chance to swear she will beat Lala. The principal then leads stretches for the students, but it is obvious that he is just having the girls make suggestive moves. As the boys start the first race, Ren challenges Rito for Lala once again. When the boys look at what they must retrieve for the race, however, all of them find that their goals are impossible. Lala has one of her devices assist Rito in preforming the embarrassing act of grabbing Haruna’s shorts, but this only results in his being slapped by Haruna once again. When the girls have their race, they find that they actually end up in dramatic situations for their challenge. Most of the girls fail to pass, but Lala successfully crosses the goal.
Saki prepares to challenge Lala again during the next race, but she discovers that she is not actually participating. Rito, on the other hand, can only worry about regaining Haruna’s trust. Yui leads the red team in the relay race, but Ren is missing when she must transfer the baton. Ren suddenly returns from his journey from earlier, however, taking the baton and running at full speed. Ren cannot slow down before passing off to Rito, so he throws the massive sword in his hand. This causes a huge crack in the school grounds, however, which Rito almost falls into. Haruna reaches out to help Rito, but when he accidentally grabs onto one of her boobs, she ends up slapping him into the hole.
One of the members for Haruna’s team becomes injured because of the disaster, so Rito replaces him for the next event. Finally able to challenge Lala again, Saki has a large pool of water emerge from the ground. This leads to everyone switching to bathing suits, as they begin the event. Saki soon reveals her secret weapon, a bathing suit cutter, as it proceeds to tear apart all of the girl’s swimsuits in the area. When Lala’s is cut, however, she simply has it replaced by Peke. When Haruna is knocked unconscious by the weapon in its more destructive state, Rito quickly carries her to the infirmary. Saki believes she will defeat Lala in her distraction, but her weapon turns on her at the last second. Rito takes the chance to apologize to Haruna in the infirmary when she wakes, and he is relieved to find that she is not angry at him. When the ground around them begins to shake, however, Rito again gets in awkward situations with Haruna. Lala soon shows up to greet the two, getting the usual reactions.
Preview: Back to the “plot”….?
Impression:
Okay, I’m going to be completely honest. I’m beginning to lose all that is left of my enthusiasm for this show. I mean, I know lovcoms can typically be pretty plotless, but episodes like this are just ridiculous. It was random, not funny, and not even particular fun to watch. Rito getting in trouble with Haruna made me giggle a little bit, but this gag only works a few times before getting extremely old. The way episodes are flowing is just terrible too, with scenes rapidly moving without any development. Besides that, I’m simply getting tired of the sloppy animation. Again, small things like this just kill any aesthetic the show would actually have if it had done it in other ways. And, for a school sports festival episode, this episode was even kind of tame. Maybe I’ve just been watching too much Kanokon? Anyways, I’m going to give this a few more episodes. If it cannot redeem itself in any way after that, I might actually end up dropping a show for the first time in a long time.

Jeez, Rito must’ve gone further with Haruna than he could’ve if he was actually dating her.
How’s going, Totali ?? Haven’t talk to you for a while. Well, the problem with this show is too much filler. Can’t say anything much. Well, there’s always manga to read, Totali. How about just read this one chapter (It’s dedicated to Mikan-chan). It takes like 3 minutes to read:
