Nabari no Ou – 13
A loli rival appears!
Summary:
Two student council members take care of their school’s sick headmaster, who is disappointed that he cannot meet the school’s visitors. As Hanabusa leaves for another work trip, she leaves Miharu and Yoite to Kumohira. When she finds that Kumohira has not been close to them recently, she assures them that they would return. After a kiss with Hanabusa, Kumohira leaves with Kouichi, Juji, and Raimei who have been waiting for him. Mentioning the Kouga’s wish to discuss the future of the world of Nabari, Kouichi describes how surprising it is for the Kouga to reveal themselves so openly. Raimei is put into deep though when Kumohira mentions the village’s forbidden scroll, but she quickly changes the subject when Kumohira notices this.
As the Kairoshu’s car is being pulled out of the water, Yukimi warns Miharu not to say anything at the Kouga meeting. Raiko reveals the invitation they received, then wondering if Miharu had heard anything about the Kouga’s scroll. The Kouga are known to be particularly good with medicines, and there may even be a way to cure a kira user. Miharu becomes interested after hearing this, but he then wonders about Raiko’s wishes for Gau. A girl soon introduces herself as a student of Kouga’s Aiya Academny, Kurookano Shijima. Shijima takes note of Miharu being with the Kairoshu, before leading the group to the village.
When the group reaches the campus, Yukimi mentions how famous the school actually is. Shijima states that the majority of the students are normal people, then warning the group to stop looking around so much. Upon entering some of the special dorms, the group overhears a few visitors pass by while talking badly about the school’s headmaster. When Miharu steps into the center of the room, several of the students from above look down upon him. Among this group, are the girls named Katarina and Subaru who were taking care of the school’s headmaster earlier. After Shijima leaves the group at their room, Yoite quickly attempts to leave to retrieve the village’s scroll. Although Yukimi warns him not to make such moves, the two quickly separate afterwards. While discussing those around them with Raiko, Yukimi coincidentally sees Kumohira from his neighboring window. Although Yukimi becomes exited about how interesting things have become, Kumohira is put into despair about how complicated it has become.
The Banten and Kairoshu meet with the Kouga for their first meeting later, but after it concludes, Kumohira can only question what Miharu is thinking. When Shijima and the other council members meet with the headmaster later, a teacher named Kannukki enters to express his wish for the headmaster to choose a successor. The girls deny the headmaster’s ability to make such decisions in his state, then suspecting that Kannukki wishes to take the position as the school’s leader for himself. Shijima soon stops the conversation when she senses people outside, and finding Yukimi and Raiko attempting to listen in on their conversation, she makes them leave by presenting a map of the school for them. Before the two leave, the council members warn them not to take them lightly.
While Raimei and the others wonder about Miharu in their room, Kumohira appears to express his own worries. The group decides that they would simply ask Miharu of his plans as friends, then deciding what they would have to do depending on his answer. Meanwhile, Yukimi and the Kairoshu discuss what they have learned from their information gathering. When Yoite does not respond to Yukimi’s call, Miharu enters his room. Miharu wraps a scarf around Yoite’s neck, explaining that it was from Hanabusa. Despite Yoite’s denying his need for it, Miharu persistently puts it on. When Miharu discusses how dark it becomes at night where they are at, Yoite states that he likes it this way. Shape loses its meaning in the darkness, as everything disappears.
Later in the night, a student attempts to attack Yukimi in his sleep. Yukimi responds by easily defeating the student, sparing his life after seeing his tears. When Raiko wakes, he finds Miharu and Yoite missing from their room. Yoite prepares to attack the threats around him in the halls outside, but Miharu prevents him from using the kira. Raimei and Juji also fend off pursuers, learning that the teacher Kannukki ordered the students’ actions. When she sees him, Raimei happily greets Miharu. She only wonders if he is properly protecting Yoite, which Miharu confirms. Juji, in the meantime, is still suspicious of Miharu. The Kouga soon appear to wonder what is going on, not believing that their own students would attack their visitors. With this, the three council members use their skills to subdue the two groups before them.
Preview: More emo.
Impression:
Juji better watch out. I don’t know if her eye dropper attack will be good enough! But yea, this episode actually ended up being hilarious…both intentionally and unintentionally. Out of the major Kouga characters that have been introduced, I can really only say I like Shijima (Shindou Kei). The way she speaks and her “Hmm…” are just great. She’s obviously the one we are meant to focus on, but I would still like to see what she will bring to the table in the future. Besides that, I just wasn’t very impressed by the other council members’ “skills” (A slingshot? Really?). The situations between the Banten and Kairoshu were pretty funny too, especially Juji’s despair after finding out that Miharu had switched sides. This actually might turn out more serious in the future though, with the way she looked at Miharu towards the end. This episode really only did enough to introduce this arc to us though, so I guess I can only wait for next week’s episode to see what kind of development will show up.

More than friends” Who-hoo!
Why can’t Miharu keep his hands off Yoite anyway? And why won’t Yoite let anyone else touch Miharu? Obsessive minds wanna know.
the gay love connects the world, dude.
Oh god, Raikou’s pajamas.
O.O … w t f?? I need a dictionary I don’t know what to say to this..
Late, but I’m stalling this series after this episode. And yes, hilarious… you better watch some Ga-Rei Zero so you can see some similar type ridiculousness in episode 11.
Anyway, I think this series can be summed up in a few short lines.
“At least Juji is cute”
or
“random”
Not sure which is more appropriate.
