This is what slice-of-life anime is all about: plain but pleasant everyday life, not a bombardment of obscure reference (cough cough Lucky Star). I've been hooked to Hidamari Sketch since the first season. The second one doesn't disappoint.

Wai! I'm not the only one who was totally fanboying at just the prospect of this show. It's nice to see that the show is really focusing on the parts of all the characters that we absolutely cherish and love. Yuno is sweeter, Miya is more fun, Hiro is more warm, Sae is more tsun and dere, and everyone is more quirky and normal at the same time. The first episode's animation quality was quite high and Shaft has refined their style to be more fitting the quirky slice-of-life that is the Hidamari Sketch I fell in love with. The seiyuu even seem more comfortable and flexible in their roles. Ahhhhh! Fanboy Overload! *dies*
