Ninja fighting…..in MY emo yaoi show?
Summary:
Yukimi and Raiko meet Kouichi and Kumohira in the halls, confirming to each other that they have been attacked by the school’s students. In the grounds below, the Kouga council members face off against Yoite’s kira. When Katarina quickly moves in to attack Miharu, she suffers a painful attack from Yoite. The boys attempt to escape, but Shijima soon engages combat with Yoite. The two seem to be somewhat equal, but when Yoite suffers damage, Miharu helps him to escape. While Yukimi attempts to open a locked room, Kumohira asks if Miharu has really joined forces with the Kairoshu. However, Yukimi does not give him any clear details. Yoite suffers in a dark room, as Miharu refuses to leave him to find Yukimi. Staying by Yoite’s side, Miharu finally reveals the alternate plan he had in mind. Even if they did not gain information from the hidden scrolls, he would ask the Shinrabanshou for help. Recalling the Shinrabanshou’s appearance, Miharu realizes that it was she that Shijima looked similar to.
Raimei and Juji attempt to explain their situation to an attacking Subaru, but she refuses to listen. After Katarina shows up, the two are quickly put out of consciousness. In the meantime, Shijima has found Yoite and Miharu. While attacking the two, she questions Yoite’s reasons for using the kira. Even having the kira used on Shijima doesn’t stop her, as she continues to guess that Yoite plans on having Miharu grant his wishes. When Yoite moves in to save Miharu, he is stabbed from behind by Katarina. The council members seemingly corner the two boys, but Yoite again manages to create a means of escape. In the meantime, Yukimi and the others are finally able to break their way through a door. They question the students behind about Kannukki and Miharu, but the students simply use their abilities to disappear. The group is suddenly stopped further, when Kannukki has appeared while holding Kouichi hostage.
Miharu finds that Yoite is bleeding severely, as he attempts to help him. Now in tears, Yoite expresses to Miharu that he does not wish to die. Miharu tells Yoite that he is not a troublesome shinigami as Shijima suggested, but rather, his other self. Miharu desperately calls out to the Shinrabanshou, but he finds that she will not answer him. When Shijima finds the two once again, she quickly puts Miharu to sleep. Meanwhile, Kannukki forces Raiko and the others to drop their weapons. The group wonders what his objectives are, but Kouichi easily guess that it is the Daya. Kannukki doesn’t hide this fact, as he expresses that the children are needed for the hidden technique. Kannukki states that the council members’ plans were the same, only that they wished to use the Daya to save the headmaster. As the council members gather their unconscious captives, it is revealed that they knew Kannukki’s plans all along. They believe this could have been prevented, but it is recalled that the headmaster did not wish to use the Daya.
In Kannukki’s distraction, Yukimi is able to cause an explosion that makes him let go of Kouichi. Raiko and Yukimi quickly take the chance to run through the now unlocked door before them, and Kouichi soon attacks Kannukki. When Kumohira attempts to stop him from meaningless killing, Kouichi can only wonder how he can think this way during such a time. Kannukki takes the chance to shoot Kouichi from behind, making Kouichi tell Kumohira that they would all die this way if Kumohira continued to act in the same way. In the grounds below, a large amount of power gathers around Miharu.

Uh oh!!! This episode was great. Though some could easily complain about how it was presented, there was finally a return to action this week. Shijima was really awesome, and her similarity to the Shinrabanshou is making her out to be an even more interesting character. It seems like Yoite has finally started to show his true wishes too, which Miharu is reacting to accordingly. I have to say though, despite how much I try to avoid these jokes, the shounen ai vibes are really starting to get to me. During all of the conversations Miharu and Yoite had while they were alone with each other, I couldn’t help feel a part of myself facepalm. I really liked the mention of Yoite being a “troublesome shinigami” though, as well as Miharu’s calling him his other self. I’m pretty sure I mentioned this parallel a few weeks ago, so I guess I had a “I told you so” moment there. I also loved how Miharu referred to the Shinrabanshou as a fairy, while everyone else seems to think it is a monster. Kouichi’s actions at the end were pretty eye opening, but having already learned that he is immortal, it kind of makes the situation dramatic in a whole different way. Next week looks even more exciting, with the possible return of Miharu’s powers.
